GWX gold mod problems ?

So I downloaded sh3 from steam and the gxw gold mod installed with it.

All the intro loads ok It then it allows me to chose a new game and scenario or career, change the realistic settings and crew all ok. Load new game and when its about 30 % loaded the screen goes blank and nothing happens.. Any ideas ?

ps it is windows 10 and I know this sounds strange but when I originally had this installed on my computer with the old gwx mod it ran perfectly. I uninstalled about a year ago. When I reinstalled the game steam performed an update and the gwx mod had upgraded to gold.

So im giving you all the info the game downloaded from steam with the gwx mod ….. I didn't have to reinstall the mod it just downloaded automatically.
