The real meaning of "dressed to kill".


Reminds me of some chapters in John Keegan's "A History of Warfare" where he talks about that warrior castes often accept absurd, even hindering attachments to their armour and clothing only because it was tradition or a way of expressing resistence to changing fighting methods and modernization having its ways. Those photos impress due to the details. And the peacock-like posing of the subjects.



Nice find!


Those clothings do not look comfortable. Maybe that is their purpose: to keep the warrior in a grim mood.

Skybird, did you ever see the TV series "Soldiers", based on Keegan's book? It's the best! I still have the original VHS tape I used to record it off TV!
