I thought the brass would get a better idea of what the harbor looked like after we sent all the ships to the shallow, but maybe I'm wrong?
Thanks
You gotta take pictures first. Maybe brass wants to know what the Japs' new camo looks like. Plus theycan't confirm what you sank if you didn't take a photo

When you're close enough, raise your observation scope. The camera button should light up. Start taking pictures of ships until the button goes out. Then start sinking ships.

Raise the scope.

Then 'Lock' the target.

Press the camera button.

Default Help with sh4 version

Bought through Subsim Amazon, how can I tell if it's updated. And if it's not, where can I get Patches?

Played this when it first came out, wanted to get back into it, more4 fun than the new stuff.

Thanks for you help.

Welcome back! SHIV IS an addiction!

SHIV from Amazon could be either version 1.4 or 1.5... The "plain Jane" version is v1.4, but if you got the version with U Boat missions it will be v1.5.

When loading the program v1.5 loads with a silhouette of a U boat with the tag "U Boat Missions", and at the main menu screen in the lower RH corner "v1.5" is displayed.
IMO both versions are solid but have a few "undocumented features" that are discussed in SS, and workarounds written by a few dedicated souls in various threads. v1.5 is the target program for most of the mods.

As far as mods/patches/fixes/updates, SubSim is chock full of 'em with a number of threads generated by the gifted and prolific SubSim Kaleuns who picked up the ball after Ubisoft lost interest. Checking the Stickies in this thread is a good start.

Good hunting!
