You say "freezes". Does it crash to desktop, or does it just sit there? If it just sits there, give it some time. Depending on the mod load I've had it take as much as five minutes to load...but it does load.

It doesn't crash to desktop just sits there, will give a 10 minute wait to see if it does, gone away and came back and still frozen but will leave for longer

Hi frankie
When you say it is a freeze how long in minutes would you say you are allowing before you think it is no longer loading?
What mods are you using?

Go to your v15 folder\data\cfg\careers and delete any career names.
Reboot your system.
Start the SH3Commander application from the main folder.
Select a new Career name.
Start the game.
At the menu select new career.
When the game loads to the office click on the map.
Depending on your system it can take 5 or 6 minutes to load the game.

If this does not work then the fact that you have another freeze or ctd will be a compatibility issue.
Your gpu needs to be 2gb or greater or if you are using a laptop with an integrated gpu this can also be a problem too.
The fact that the freeze happens when trying to load usually right at the end of the line is not really any different to a ctd, something is not right and it is telling you.
Were you able to load the Naval Academy with the 2 mods installed without any loading problems or glitches?
Did you actually try say the Navigation Tutorial to see if all the controls etc, were looking ok and everything was in the right place?

I have never had a ctd in the game but I had numerous game loading crashes in all sorts of places before I found the right compatibility.
Sometimes I could reload the game straight away and it would load without any problems.

Steve, thanks for the tip a about waiting.

It appeared to be frozen as it stuck on the max red line for ages but guess what, after 9mins 10 secs it started!!!!!! I,m back in the game woohooooo

I have been playing SH3 for years with mods , sh4 isn't as good in my opinion, SH5 is eye candy but horrible to play as I just cannot get into it so keep coming back to sh3. And now I can play it once again on win 10.

A very happy bunny . Just one thing, how do I get out the harbour, all the locks are closed!!!,

Hi

I had that problem as well until I moved the SH3 file from programs x86 to just a separate folder in the c drive then it worked

Never install in Program x86 folder.
Your game loading time will depend on your systems capability.

Approach the locks carefully as they are timed and do not know you are there.
I prefer to use the one to the left of the junction rather than the one almost straight ahead as this gives you more time to take a better position and adjust the speed.

When you return from your testing mission in Stralsund.
Use the Esc key
Exit patrol
Dock at Stralsund
You will find yourself at a desk.
Press on the documents at the desk and you can award promotions etc.
Any promotion here will be lost if not taken.
Then click on the telephone and request a transfer to flotilla 2 at Wilhelmshaven.
You should then see your request has been approved.

If you want to play with a realistic career or realistic crew transfers tick the box before you start a new mission (not test missions)
Remove the tick the next time you start SH3Commander but before you load the game so that any changes can only occur once in the current mission.

how do you change language from german to english .
l installed it and choose english .
start up is in english and thats it , all games in german
only downloaded this four times so far , must be doing alright then

When the game loads to the main menu at the bottom centre you will see the options button.
In options you will be able to change the language and other settings.

No.
There are 2 download options.
1 single large file or 9 multiple files.
The 9 multiple files all need to be put in to a new folder.
Check that the files downloaded have not been corrupted by checking the number of bytes in each file from the link below.

After downloading LSH3-2015 restart your system.
To install the 9 files use the LSH3-EDITION-2015-STARTER-SPLIT.EXE and follow the screen instructions.
Like wise as above if you are installing from the 1 large file then extract from the zip file and use the LSH3-EDITION-2015-STARTER-FULL.EXE

SH3 must be a fresh install and not in the default Program x86 folder.
Make a new folder like SH3 so your install path will look like C:\SH3.

Also l have found that changing the windows Compatibility mode helps heap`s.
To windows XP , that`s changing the SH3.exe file & also the JSGME.exe file too . [ most likely talked about before ].

Interestingly, in my case it's a direct opposite. Initially I too set the compatibility mode to WinXP. Then after a couple CDTs on loading I switched it off. It appears CDTs are now gone.

Win8.1 x64, nVidia 860M.

Trying to download LSH 2015 edition but can't get the 'initial split starter exe.' file to download without being shown as unsafe and blocked? The remaining 8 files download ok, just the initial starter file won't. Anyway to get this going please?
