Default RSRD causing CTD when loading up sim

Hmm so ran into an issue never had before. Loading up TMO with RSRD. When have RSRD and patch enabled, CTD as it loads before ever getting to the home screen.Loads fine without RSRD. Anyone else have the issue?

First question the Gurus will ask: did you delete the SH4 folder in documents?

The following must be true:

- The game not installed in Program (x86) folder but somewhere accessible like C:\Games\...
- LAA or 4GB Patch must be installed to ensure the game is using 4GB system RAM. Skip this with mods and the game will crash.
- You must wipe completly your save folder if you change mods or even if you modifiy the mod composition; the mod may still work but if it crashes you know it doesn't .
- Mods often have hotfixes and patches to work with other mods, and some versions will no longer work with another mod.

For RSRDC, I would install like this in JSGME:

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Generic Mod Enabler - v2.6.0.157
[C:\Games\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter 4 Wolves of the Pacific\MODS]

1_TriggerMaru_Overhaul_2-5
[Optionals for TMO - you may need to remove this if it doesn't work or crashes]
RSRDC_TMO_V502
RSRDC_V5xx_Patch1
Fixed_CD_sonar_RSRDC
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

I hope this helps,
XS

A good alternative to my proposition above - and working 100% - is to load the Ralle's ModSoup megamod. This package contains exactly TMO+OTC+RSRDC.
OTC will make corrections to the optics and give you another sub room (radio room + captain's room).

I did. In fact I did a completely fresh install of SH4 when decided wanted to run TMO RSRD again.

Still getting the CTD on start up with RSRD for TMO enabled. LAA installed. etc The "load bar" on the startup screen goes all the way to the end, then CTD. Never had this issue with RSRD before.

Don't forget to check your mod folder structure...

Looks fine to me. Loading it up as I always have, never had this issue with RSRD.

I have a reason to load the setup above to observe campaign behavior. I play in Windows 10 with 4GB patch meeting the requirements above; I will report wether it plays correctly or if it crashes. First thing I will do after loading this mod config is: wiping my save folder to avoid any misbehavior. In fact what I do is: I make a backup of the Cfg save folder for every mod composition I'm loading so I can easily switch from one Cfg to another one without having multiple installs of SH4 on my system.

[EDIT 1]
After loading the config above, the first thing I notice when in the sub is that all optics are WRONG, so I would never play this setup. I will add OTC to correct this and so my setup will look like this now:

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Generic Mod Enabler - v2.6.0.157
[C:\Games\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter 4 Wolves of the Pacific\MODS]

1_TriggerMaru_Overhaul_2-5
RSRDC_TMO_V502
RSRDC_V5xx_Patch1
Fixed_CD_sonar_RSRDC

1.5_Optical Targeting Correction 031312 for TMO 2.5
1.5_OTC_Realistic Scopes for 16 to 9 RSRDCv502

Navigation Training with all Submarines (don't look for this one)
Better Clock_from_FOTRSU (don't look for this one)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

But instead of this setup, why not simply play with Ralles ModSoup? It does the same and Bleiente has surely made a better setup and game compared to this setup
I will however check this setup to see if any crash will occur which I don't think.

Updated my post above with [EDIT 1] . Works fine for me but I have yet to encounter convoys or task forces. I don't receive contact reports yet - but that's how TMO is intended early 1942.

Loading RSRDC after TMO 2.5 will cause problems with the NavMap not showing some new units in Zoomed view. RSRDC has added new units but doens't comply to the format used in TMO for the dds files.
For example, the new DD Sims destroyer added has the wrong NDD_Sims_shp.dds file for TMO which makes him not appear on the map when zoomed-in. This will be true for other new units, so RSRDC is not fully compatible with TMO without corrections, and who knows if this is the only issue, I don't know but I will rather play with Ralles ModSoup if I ever want to play TMO+RSRDC.
