Default Live Cipherer - A tool for crypt and decrypt messages faster during multiplayer.

As part of an upcoming event I have made a tool can crypt and decrypt radio messages on the fly (manual input). For the moment it only supports three different keys ([0, 0, 0], [3, 6, 6] and [6, 1, 0]), but more will be supported soon plus a way to set a custom key that wont be decipherable in-game.

And as part of that I want to learn more about opensource programming I decided to release the source code on GitHub. I'm gladly taking all the feedback I can get, because of this will be my first opensource-project and I think I can learn a lot from it.

The focus on this release was to get it usable before this Friday (#success!), now begin the work to get it user-friendly.

Things that are left to do to the next release:
  • Adding more comments.
  • Adding more cipher-keys.
  • Adding support for a costume cipher-key.
  • Adding labels and describing text to all inputs.
  • Make use of hidden 'find cipher-definition'.

Download: v0.1

I hope players can find it to be useful!

Cool! I was thinking of making something in python that can do the same kind of thing, for those of us who aren't a fan of java.

That actually gave me an idea I have to checkout in the future. Wrap .jar into a .exe for usability. Thanks!

By the way, is it not possible to rename threads on the frontpage?

And don't forget to activate macro when Excel opening...
Use CTRL+D for decode message
Use ALT+F11 for verify/modify/examin this macro

This file is easier to use on my tablet ...
(PC in full screen + decoder on the tablet)
Beter is an aplication for our tablet... Do a member work it ?

Project is on hold.
Because of the the game is going to go through some big changes (Kickstarter-link), I will now put this project on hold. I will continue on it, but for now I will wait until the changes is playable and any new Enigma is released.

If I post any updates I will probably do it in the Steam forum, but I will try not to forget about this place as well.

Live Cipherer is now compatible with the current version of Wolfpack (currently Patch 0.14), but I do expect the capability to change in the future because I think that the developers are aiming to implement some version of the Enigma's plugboard as well.

You can download the latest version here.
