Default SF: Joystick Question

After installing the GoGamer, western DVD edition, patching with the provisional mod patch and successfully running SF, I cannot get the game to recognize my Saitek X-52 Pro stick while running the first (driving) tutorial. Otherwise, the sim appears to run well. I don't have the "No joysticks" box checked in the options section.

Any advice on how to solve this?

I "solved" the problem by changinf sticks to an older MS Sidewinder Pro. That was automatically recognized and works well.
