Mod that would let you play as a merchant ship

Since there are pretty much no ship simulators out there, at least good quality ones, I wondered if Silent Hunter could be used for that purpose? Are there any mods that would let you play as a merchant ship?

Browse through the SubSim Downloads section, SH4 (since you've posted in the SH4 section), Graphics Mods, Ships, and see if there aren't some Merchants in there somewhere. You might have to dig a bit, but someone did a bunch of them not too long ago, though there are not real "Objectives" aka: "Assignments" to complete, but you could noodle in the Single Mission area.
