I just hope it will have proper physics unlike most other mod aircraft (F-86 anyone?).

Very interesting...I wonder if someone is working on an F-4 for counterbalance.

You're missing out, it's a great game.

On a side note, I thought you couldn't mod that game, where are all these cool mods coming from. I was never able to get the Mig-15 mod to work, because I couldn't get all of the patches to work. (meaning install)

There are several jets in the pipeline (no betas to try yet) and that includes these-

But I would think that getting the various radar systems that these newer jet use to work in this sim, might not be doable? We already have Nightfighters from WWII that don't have working radar, and as for missles that lock on another ac, doubt that works either. Nice looking models though, would be fun to get the various problems worked out in the future.

One of the future patches was supposed to implement radar for night fighters, but they keep pushing that back and it doesn't seem like it will be in 4.11.

I couldn't ever get the keys or joysticks configured right, the game looked blocky and basic (and the same Lego menu has moved over to CloD ) no matter what the settings. I'd tried UP but didn't seem to alter anything looks-wise - iirc the only difference I noticed was some more a/c and maybe, just maybe, a different texture on the ground but I get/got so disheartened with it I ignore it for months and months.

Then I see some of the pics from in the heli/flight sim screenies thread, and I think - will it work for me, will it buggery!

Odd, I think IL-2 still looks pretty good despite being, what, 10 years old?

Assuming you maxed out everything else, are you using DirectX or OpenGL? OpenGL has the fancy water (Though I think you have to edit the configuration file to get that) and I'm pretty sure it looks better with it in general. Also, forcing AA and AF with your video card drivers can make it look a lot better, since the game doesn't have those in the options for some reason.
