radar questions about radar

Hello,

1. Is there any way to make the enemy radar useless in bad weather, at least in order to avoid the enemy to detect your snorkel through heavy sea waves?

2. I have a ship right in front of me. I go in the radio room and try to have a radar signal on the screen, but there's nothing: is it normal??

The snorkels were difficult to detect even
In good weather. Tarnmatte is covering the
Snorkel head, the KM tested it with their own
Radar and captured allied radar equipment
It has a very small radar cross signature.
Like looking at a banana peel in a CRT.
Tarnmatte is made of wicker and wrapped
Around the snorkel snug then applied with an
Anti radar coating and paint.
I would think the ai sensors file should be the culprit.

1.a Yes, more than one way. Look into AI_Sensors.dat or Sim.cfg.
But i believe nobody would play this cheat long. No risc - No fun.

1.b There may be a problem with the XXI-snorkel. Old FAQs says there Surface is as big as the whole boat.

1.c An KaLeu with less intelligence may use the snorkel in heavy seas, high risc the snorkel get broken, and lost health of crew due to vacuum and diesel-smoke in boat.

2.a Maybe.
If "a ship" means "one ship" in range, then No, this is not normal. Go back to screen and try again. Slow and careful.
If it means "more then 3 ships" in range, them maybe yes: on my install it is hard to get peeks on radar-screen on more than 3 ships.

2.b How your radar-screen should look like see here:

Greetings.

The problem is that the one who is actually cheating is the AI with super radars that never existed. SH3 sensors are very bad modelled..... noobs' work.

I read real KTB and they actually used it in bad weather, to avoid airplanes patrol. The side effect was that indeed some water entered in it, and it was creating a horrible suckling noise. Moreover, the boot could only sail at very low speed.
