Using WinRAR, or 7Zip? WinZip won't unpack .rar files.

using 7 zip. it unpacks the files but when it comes to installing it goes almost to the end and then gives a error 1001 message"can not load file or assembly 'sort.nip' or one of its dependencies.

Hi k
The file may be blocked or read only.
In Properties, security, advanced, Edit, allow full control.

thank you. Hey berb do u think trying to download the S3d corrupted a sound file? i get no voice sound for commands, all other sounds ok

BTW just looked at my installer file and it does have full permission. Maybe it does not like windows 7, although it was on there before.

Hi k
Just reading up on S3d on Subsim.
It is a 10 year old application so it may or may not be compatible with your current Windows OS?
I take it that you have checked that you have the system requirements especially Microsoft .NET 2.0?

No experience of this I am afraid as I am not one who likes tinkering with game files.

Hi mate.

Look at your download shortcut/zip go props then select the unblock tab. It should show some like the file is an untrusted or such wording. Hit unblock then unzip and install.

Hope this helps, been trying to find something on my rig I could s/s but no joy....

Any probs hoot

Best regards.

Hi, kaizerkat!
From readme of S3D:
"IMPORTANT: The installer included in this package does NOT install the required components listed below. Please use the links to download the components if you don't have them installed on your computer:

* Microsoft .NET 2.0

Vista users can skip this component (.NET 2 comes out of the box with Vista).

For 32-bit editions of Windows:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

For 64-bit editions of Windows:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

* Microsoft DirectX 9.0c (Managed)

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=2da43d38-db71-4c1b-bc6a-9b6652cd92a3&displaylang=en"

May be this will help...
(on my win7 x64 install, reinstall and run clearly)
Best regards.

Install DirectX 9.x without remove DirectX 10+ because DX 10+ is not compatible with DX <= 9. Then both packages may be exist on this same Windows OS. You can install DX 9 in compatible mode Windows XP SP2 (not SP3 because almost old games are compatible with this version of Service Pack)
