I don't think there is any supposing to it. Clinton's opposition research doc, the Steele dossier has now been pretty much debunked. The line between Clinton, The DNC, the law firm Perkins Coie, Fusion GPS and Christopher Steele has been fairly well established. She was doing exactly what she accused Trump of doing.

While I don't believe everything in that dossier to be true or correct I don't think it can be compared to the plain lies by Trump & associates, but I will agree with you that it was a a misstep.

Excusing? I an not excusing anyone, quite the opposite. You mentioned Hilary Clinton in what sounded as an attempt to excuse Trump's blatant abuses. I only replied that I don't think Trump's and Clinton's misconducts to be on the same level, and I explained why. To me, that is not the same as excusing the Decmorat candidate, of whom by the way, I am not a sympathizer at all.

Not a disappointment to me. That guy is very open, an honest man in his own way. He did exactly what he had promised during his campaign, both verbally, with his arrogant attitude and with his personal history. I didn't like it, but I knew what to expect.

I would have been glad that Hilary Clinton was not the 45th US President, but a detail took away from me all the pleasure: Trump was the dramatic alternative.

You are obviously talking from your own perspective, which is understandable, but if you widen it for a moment facts will easily disconfirm you.

Social discontent is at its top, Americans are more divided than ever since Civil War, international climate change agreements by the USA were cancelled, treaties with many of its commercial partners are severed, billions on taxpayer's money were wasted in the building of a wall of dubious utility whose construction I doubt will ever be finished, the per capita Covid-19 death toll is among the highest in the world, the questionable methods of your president have ridiculed your country, weakened its democracy and set the new standard of irresponsibility for a pletora of unscrupulous politicians worldwide.

I am sure I am missing some important point, but that's enough to me.

I think that many that had hope with Trump were seriously crushed at this point.
Again a politician trusted took people for a ride.

Where I once had hope? It went down a dark and deadly path I want no part of.

As to the future? I have lost trust in all politicians. I will not be a part of any riots or get involved in any stuff like that.
I just want to be left alone.

Enjoy your hermit existence Jeff. i don't blame you. I lost faith in politicians a very long time ago around the time of Nixon. Carter was probably the most trustworthy of all of them since then.

Funniest news story I've seen in the last couple of days was about Trump being compared to Nixon and hTrump went on an expletive soaked tirade about it and now forbids the name Nixon to ever be uttered in his presence.
I wonder if Nixons picture is still hanging on a wall somewhere in the White House?
