Default World population is in decline

In 2100 China may have half of it's actual population.

I wonder what will be the main causation factor should it happen.

Except that world population is not declining it is climbing. And according to that article it will continue climbing for decades before they expect it should decline. Big difference.

That website shouldn't be taken serious on anything. Its dubious at best.

The estimations of how global population unfolds over this century, show a generally climbing graph with a widening variance range the further ahead in time you look. That is why at the end of the century you have a very small chance for indeed a small decline down to 7.5 bn or so, but a very high probability for a net growth, at maximum as high as some I think 14 or 15 bn. The chances for a net growth are much higher than the chances for a net decline, that means. Much bigger.
