Of coarse your right DW, blades can be re-sharpened, but I suppose the point for me is this. Not only is the blade been blunted by 61 years of use, but to re-sharpen a blade a man needs good eyesight, because even a young and experienced eyes cannot see the edge of a really sharp knife, you can only see it when it's blunt.

We battle on and rage against the dying of the light.

Hello all!

I must to say: yes I like XXI etc but...
Will be much more productive to have the IX... it sail all the war, and was the big brother of the VII.
If we see the VII as the Bf 109, the IX will be the FW190 of the OKM.

XXI will be nice, but a little stupid... first of it must to be the type nine.

Regards

"Blades can always be resharpened Those that have no 'blade' can start making one by abandoning the 'instant gratification' they've become so accustomed to (thanks to society ) and take the hard road and actually learn the whys and hows.", TDW

I'd rather have someone show me how to sharpen this blade, especially if very efficient opposed to trying to figure it out myself and waste a lot of time. Are you looking to train a new SH modder? I know how to program... in work I'm mostly dealing with database and reporting through writing SQL though.

I wouldn't know anything about the structure of this game though. I would also possibly be lost in the editor / compiler. What is SH written in C++?

doesn't matter really. all you can look through is binary anyhow.
And you don't have to start with figuring out the entire code either... Pick a direction of what would you like to figure out, what interests you - and go. There are lots of ppl on this forum who'll gladly help along the line..

[I work with 'Gen X' and I get SO angry with them because all they want is 'instant gratification' - give me, give me (not all of them but majority of them)....they have no desire or will to learn anything And these 'Gen X' that have this no desire are going to be running society someday? We are all doomed

[/QUOTE]

brother you said it!!

I've tried to help "gen X" and some are receptive to actually using their brains for more than a drugbin or a porn outlet. If it doesnt involve "lil wayne" or "Psy" or any other of these stupid people they call "talent," they tune out. I personally spent a large portion of my life learning the works of andres segovia and bach on the guitar but guess what? this "gen X" would rather hear some straight up garbage and dview ignorance as "hipster" like its something original . Dont get me wrong I had my metalhead days but music nowadays is pure garbage. And even Plato said "When the music of the land changes, the laws will change..." or something to that effect. Idiocracy anyone? count me out of that. Ill be the nerd playing SH5

So yes I just had to agree with you. Nothing intrigues me more than understanding the complexity of how the world around us functions. Learning about complex mechanical makings of things such as the TDC. AMAZING TECHNOLOGY! Being a welder now, it's just how my mind works i guess. Too bad these kids (even though Im still young) just dont know what is good anymore. We are truly "doomed!"

I would like to see IX boats because are ideal for long war patrols and it´s very powerful . If germany had more Ix boats during the happy times maybe they could won the atlantic battle.

Unltil then i´m happy and i play VII boats with the IX boats performance in fuel , speed and torpedos. Interiors and exteriors are very similar, and more if you don´t use external cameras very often.

I'm more than willing to help in any way i can. I've got a minor modding background - used to do texture / 2D work. If that's not needed / required / I'm more than willing to help test things.

IX and XXI speed, range and torpedo layouts see this thread. Best that can be done for now.

A big team project someday to figure out 3D layout for these subs. If a team ever happens for this I would love to help. I must first deal with RL and a project I am working solo on still. I can not remember the details that others have said that it is either a big problem to fix resource wise for everyone or technically it can not be done.

I would love to learn the gr2 editor, S3D, Goblin or Wing something that gap talks about someday even if whole subs can not be made. Someday I will pick TDW's, tonschk's, privateer's, gap's, and all others brains that have done the 3D stuff.

Its the interior part that is the barrier for this, making a useable and realistic interior would be just too much work, that`s why no modder wants to try it.

I think this submarine should have been in the game originally, despite the fact that they had very little contribution to ww2 since they came in too late.
