Default Happy Birthday US Navy(funny)

Safe to say we are all interested in naval history, warfare etc.

Today marks 245th birthday of the United States Navy. Saw something on Facebook that made me laugh. Attached it but quoting it here. Enjoy.

From Times of London in 1812 ....The US Navy is a "handful of fir-built frigates under a bit of striped bunting, manned by bastards and outlaws." lmao.

See attachment below.

yeah, well, the Brits sometimes forget that the basis of the US Navy lies in the Royal Navy...except for impressment, sodomy, and venereal disease. Those are entirely British traditions.

Impressment is solely the domain of the limeys, sodomy and venereal disease...well we all had to learn it from someone.
