Default Bugged sonar.

I can only hear the background noise even if the cursor is over a sound contact. Also happens in Sub Command. Oddly enough, it works fine in 688i. The game sure is PLAYABLE even with this bug but it makes it quite more tedious than it needs to be.

I searched the internet for a solution and I found nothing... So trying my luck here in case somebody had the same issue.

Background sonar noise or background ship noise? You have the switch turned on to listen to sonar, yes?

Background noise from the sonar. And yeah, audio is on for the sonar.

Perhaps I should add that I have Windows 10.

Running any mods? Other than reinstalling any mods and doing a clean install of Dangerous Waters, unfortunately, I don't have many other options to suggest except perhaps trying to use DxWnd or one of the other programs that sort of emulates Dangerous Waters instead of running it directly through Windows 10.

I ended up solving it in the weirdest way possible. Computer voodoo magic at work right there.

I had 2 computers. First one had the same issue but recently died off. (Probably the motherboard...) This will be important later on.

The second computer had the same issue as well. But, it was slow and worked like trash so I decided to format it. It was, imo, faster than trying to figure out what was going on with it.

Once I was done. I started installing stuff. Disk write errors, bluescreens, freezes and crashes all over. After investigating, I discovered that this rebuilt computer was sold to me with a defective hard drive. The idiots manage to hide that from me until now by isolating the damaged parts of the hard drive into mini partitions. Will never buy a computer from them ever again.

ANYWAY. Back to the voodoo magic. Since my first computer died. I grabbed the hard drive and used it to replace the defective hard drive. I didn't format it since Windows 10 handled all the drivers mess it might cause.

AND WHAT DO YOU KNOW!!! Everything works like a charm and for God knows why, the sonar sound works right now. Keep in mind it didn't when this hard drive was in the other computer.

I have NO IDEA how. But, it works fine now... I just didn't expect to spend a whole day fixing up a computer.
