Default [WoS] Can't get auto identification to work.

Hi guys. I'm in need of some assistance.

So I'm back at SH5, just trying to get a casual game going with the WoS pack.
After some confusion I managed to install it correctly and got it working.

Everything's working fine except I can't get the auto ID to work.

When I lock onto a ship and press the button nothing happens. Same is true for the solution button which would also be nice to have working. (Though I'm not sure how that works.)

I've enabled auto TDC in the game and both UI cmd_Auto target ID and UI cmd_radio reports_ Auto target ID in JSGME.

I'm hoping one of you knows what's up.

Edit: Alright. Some progress. I disabled UI cmd_Auto target ID as the other mod seems to have the same function plus some extra. I tried identifying with auto TDC off and it worked. I also tried the solution button which "works" but it's so wrong that it's comical. Not sure what to do. I would preferably not do it manually.

Hi Muppetlord,

I think there is not something like Auto ID in the game. In order to identify ships in WoS the procedure is as follows:

First you must install the optional TWoS mod that is located in JSGME, it's called
TWoS UI cmd_Radio Reports_Auto Target ID

Then, in-game you must:

1-- You must be or switch to Manual TDC;
2-- on the scope or UZO, you must lock the target with space;
3-- you must order to 'Follow the target' (in the sub-menu of last right officer icon);

4-- chose the Weapon Officer icon (3rd from left), chose the 1st icon from left and again the 1st icon from left. This will order to identify the ship (see screenshot).

At that point, the exact ship name will appear in the Officer icon at your scope. You will have to consult the ID book (press E and drag it from left) to see more ship details, or: you get automatically the Depth Under Keel in the grafic where you set torpedo depth, it will adjust according to the ship once you identify it.

All this is a bit complex to explain with words, so here is a serie of screenshots, especially about point 4 above:

Having just reinstalled SH5 and TWOS I was struggling with this myself.
Many thanks XenonSmurf. ,👍

Could it be the

"TWoS UI cmd_Radio Reports_Auto Target ID"

Has been removed from the JSGME? Can't seem to find it for the life of me...

Yeah, tired me didn't realise the name has changed and I already found it in the meanwhile.

Maybe downloading mods is done better when not drifting asleep.

I sometimes just copy mods from TWOS and keep them in a separate folder. Then when names change and I cannot find it, I just add that specific TWOS from which I know the name to mod to the folder. Works great.

Best,

Ashi.
