Hi l
You posted on the wrong thread.
TWoS contains over 100 mods and patches to make this game 100% ctd free.
Documentation in the main game folder and then to Other readme files and docs folder will show you all the mods that have information.
Adding additional mods unless you know what you are doing should always be done with caution.
Check out my SH5 signature for more info.

First of all .Welcome to Subsim.
There are quite a bunch of Supermods. But I recommend GWX. It's stable, and realistic but graphics aren't that great. In order to improve them install MEP, Ahnerbe Wide GUI 1920x1080( This mod makes 1920x1080 possible and drasticly increases the quality . Other great mod is TKSS U boat compilation which adds HD skins for u-boats. And for better sounds I recommend Thomsen Soundpack. If you have any questions message me

Default If you are new, no MODs are needed.

I dont know anything about this game
You do not need any Mod for the Beginning.
Play the game as it is. On a everyday basis play it around a halfe year or so.
Then you may have the knowledge what Mods you need or what not.

The first thing you really need is the M-Key. For reading the Radio-Messages. All other things comes next.

For installing on Win7 or above (for you Win10) I strongly recommend to read the special procedure needed on THEBERBSTERs FAQs. Evan most of them tells you something about (the MOD) LSH3, they will always also apply to SH3 without this Mod.
You use Steam. You also Should read the special procedures needed for this. Search a bit here on Subsim. This pops up regulary almost on a week-basis.

Greetings.

For your first mod you wanna go for something simple, GWX is good, vanilla is even better.

After GWX War Ace Campaign is a good choice, it is a completely different experience. I can't really recommend it for your first mod, it's really complex
There's also NYGM and LSH, I don't have much experience with those.

So,

1. Vanilla or GWX
2. Anything else really
