Default Is Command: Modern Operations the Best Modern Naval Sim?

Is Command: Modern Operations the best modern Naval sim?

I think it is. Sure, there's no jaw-dropping graphics. Just maps with symbols. But the amount of systems modeling, data, units, possible missions, eras, everything is almost overwhelming.

I have ALL the DLC, plus TacView, and I'd highly recommend it all.

But I will give you a pro tip. If you've already played three missions, and you're also downloading a new game while you play, and then you load up a scenario with a huge number of ships, aircraft, helicopters, submarines, missile systems, satellites, emitters, and ground troops, and then you launch multiple attacks simultaneously, you're apt to run out of memory. I've got 32 GB of RAM, and I managed to do it.

So I guess I'll restrict playing to when I'm not downloading a new game with a lot of writing to disc. Maybe I'll even restart the game and clear my memory between huge operations.

So, it's worth the learning curve. If you don't have this, you're underprivileged. Save the Children will find a sponsor for you, and you'll start receiving CARE packages. Kids will Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF on your behalf.

You should check it out.
