VERY nice.

Add a new set of dials, replace the U-boat badge with an S-boat badge, replace the U-Flotilles with S-Flotilles (very easy when one uses this as a reference), add new "patrol grids" and we have a whole new game. I'd certainly play it.

A 37mm Flak gun "upgrade" option would be nice.

This looks truley excellent, im looking forward to it.
Heres hoping you can remove the depth gauge from the interface and unbind the keyboard commands such as C and P.

Sweet
Keeping a close eye on this one
Looking good so far and hope you get the rest done

Be pretty cool to race into a convoy at 40 kts and let loose torps before legging it

Firing at BB's in this thing... heh, just imagining it brings back memories of taking on Star Destroyers in "X-Wing"

it looks very good.
1 question though, is there a limit on hiring crew? i mean it would be silly to fully load that boat like a type II. hehe

Fantastic work.

I'm wondering if you have any sources for the interior, so that it can be modeled as well? Don't get me wrong - the external modding work you have completed so far is extraordinary.

Also, do you think it would be possible to create a mod where you can actually play an S-Boat campaign, complete with appropriate interface screens, etc? That would be wonderful.

Also I finally got totally rid of the 3rd torpedo tube, there's no "III" button anymore on the uzo/tdc screen, and the torpedo management screen shows only 2 tubes and 2 spare torpedoes. Also changed the default torpedo loadout, so that from 1939 to 1945, the default torps are T1. I chose them because they're the only ones to be faster than the boat. (I have been almost sunk by my own slow TII 2 times in testing)

About the torpedoes: I've read somewhere (I'll find the reference if you wish and/or need) that only the schnellboots used the 44kt torpedo speed settings of the T1. U-boats used the slow and medium speeds only, and the schnellboots used only the fast settings. Ever since I read that I only used the slow and medium settings on my torpedoes.

The G7a or G7a/T1 torpedo was the standard issue torpedo for Germany during the early years of World War II. The torpedo was of standard German specifications for all U-Boat torpedoes of the war at 53.3cm (21in) in diameter, 7.163m in length, and with a warhead of 280kg Hexogen.
The torpedo was of a straight running unguided design, stabilized by a gyroscope. The G7a was of variable speed, running a distance of 6km at 44kts, 8km at 40kts, and 14km at 30kts. The 44kts setting was used only by torpedo boats like the Schnellboote. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/G7a_torpedo)

Thanks ! I'm glad it's accurate, I won't have to change it back under the "historical accuracy lobby" pressure :rotfl:
It's not precised, but I would guess that S-boote used fast T1 troughout the whole war, since none of the following torpedoes were faster than 30 knots (at least I didn't find any in the torpedo.dat file)
I don't think they were all that worried about leaving torpedo wakes on the surface. I'm pretty sure that, by the time the schnellboots were in attack range potential targets were already aware of the possibilities of being torpedoed! :p
