Sorry Oberon but his is NOT our campaign.

My squadronleader just took that airfield, expended it and wrote his own campaign.

I know that's not our campaign, but it still has the airfield and I didn't have access to our campaign files so it was the next best thing

I say, usually I'm against locked cockpits, but the airfield of doom wouldn't be any fun without locked cockpits

Though that schoolbus still has to die, grr...

Just use the 6DOF, if you dont have TIR, use the mouse version to look over the nose. That's what I did and had no problems navigating the airfield... then again, I started next to 2 AI P51's already line up to take off from the airfield so I just followed them.

Right, now I'm off to re-install IL2 1946. It was so darn messy that I though maybe better get rid of it and do it again.

You go to the "off-center" cockpit view and holding right mouse button and moving your mouse it moves up/down/left/right and holding the other mouse button and moving your mouse it moves forward/back. IIRC, middlebutton resets the view.
