Default SH4 Steam CTD on Win10 with RFB 2.0 + Patch

Sorry if this has been discussed elsewhere, but I am running the steam install of SH4 on Win 10. It runs fine stock and has no issues. I tried TMO and also had no issues at all. If I enable RFB 2.0 + the April patch via JGME and try to start a campaign I get an immediate crash to desktop. I tried with both a 4gb patch and without just to rule that out. I don't think steam is replacing any files or anything so I have no idea why this is happening. It should just work. Yeah, I did try compatibility mode too set to vista even though I figured it wouldn't help. Bog standard it runs completely fine with no crashes or anything. It would be nice to try RFB. As much as I have loved TMO, I find it pretty unrealistic based upon what I have learned about japanese escorts in the past. They are just too deadly really. I bottomed out an S-class and they could still see me? really? I don't think the japanese had sonar that advanced really. Hell, i think I was having better luck with the uboats in the atlantic and that's saying something. I've certainly survived on the bottom in SH3 many times.

Edit: I should add that I did run the steam verification after I uninstalled all mods just to see if anything was changed and it did find 3 files that were different. One I know is the executable since I had patched it for 4gb. The other two could have been config files. Nothing onerous really though. If I disable all mods it runs and loads campaigns fine. If I enable TMO 2.5 again its the same, all is well. There is something with RFB. I will try downloading it again to make sure somehow it wasn't corrupt. It unzipped ok, so I would think that the file should have been all right.

A few things, firstly did you uninstall TMO before you installed RFB (all using JSGME)? If not the mods conflict and its a definite CTD.

Secondly I dont think bottoming out has any effect in SH4 the game just doesnt model it. I could be wrong on that though.

The last point is that TMO is not a realism mod, its a difficulty mod. The philosophy of TMO is to challenge experienced players beyond what the japs were historically capable of.

Hi zosX
AFAIK there is not a problem running SH4 on windows 10.
Do make sure that you run applications as administrators.
