The 'leaf' sight seems to have been chopped off when someone cropped the photo (the combined battle sight and leaf sights flipped up & down). The short lever inside the trigger guard is the magazine-release

Real men shoot the .577 1858 2-band Enfield as carried in the Civil War PS: I was 'Bisley" for an hour getting this unburied from my mancave gun locker-closet and rounding up the original 1800's Snyder bayonet that it mounted!
