The hatch/door sounds are great Venatore, much better than stock Hearing the locking mechanism engage and disengage adds a nice touch of realism. Thanks again for them.

Is that Marshall muic in the sub pen in your mod? I need to disable it since it drowns out speeches.

I'm confused matey? The Menu Music 1 Mod that I made is only for the Opening Menu Screen and load time sequence.

It does not feature anywhere else within the game so clashing with speech files is not an issue, or; are you asking this question to Steelviking?

I thought it may have been in one of your mods. But looks like it came from some other mod. I didn't enable your mod, sorry. It's music playing in the subpen whenever I go to get my orders.

That's good to hear matey as was commencing crash-action-drills to see is if somehow my Menu Music Mod 1 had linked it's way into other parts of the game.

I hope you find the culprit mod that is causing you grief

U-Boat Propulsion SFX

  • This mod replaces eight original Silent Hunter V audio files with modded versions.
  • The eight audio files which have been modded are as follows;
    • motor_Diesel_LOOP.wav (created by Venatore)
    • motor_Electric_LOOP.wav (created by Venatore)
    • Submarine_diesel_exterior.wav (merged & manipulated by Venatore)
    • Submarine propellers 2.wav (merged & manipulated by Venatore)
    • Submarine_diesel_underwater.wav (merged & manipulated by Venatore)
    • Submarine_electric_exterior.wav (merged & manipulated by Venatore)
    • Submarine_hyd.wav (created by Venatore)
    • Vapor Propeller.wav (created by Venatore)
  • By utilising this mod; your U-Boat propulsion will now have the familiar diesel U-96 Das Boot movie sound effect. I’ve also created a unique electric generator SFX for the U-Boat, for best effect stand in the generator room to listen to the new electric generator SFX.
  • Whilst in contact with the enemy, you should consider closing all compartment doors aft of the command room; this will reduce engine noise filtering into your command room compartment.
  • The Das Boot U-boat screw sound effect was created by an unknown modder of the Subsim community & I would like to acknowledge whoever he/she is. I would also like to thank Jimbuna for uploading sounds that I required to complete this mod.
  • For best results you should consider using my audio mods called;
  • German U-Boat Crew Language Pack
  • Unterseeboot SFX
  • All audio files contained within this mod were created & or merged by Venatore.
  • This mod is JSGME compatible.
  • This mod is zipped with WinRAR.

Will the enemy AI actually detect such sounds?

Greetings Venatore,

I've installed the Unterseeboot SFX mod and it sounds terrific. The only minor thing I found was that after a while I get a continual knock sound as if someone is banging against the side of the U-Boat. It has gone into a loop.

Any idea what that may cause as the mod does not conflict with the others I have installed.

Never heard of this before, I'll keep an eye out to see if anyone else is getting the same repeated knocking sound. I just hope you haven't forgotten someone on the conning tower whilst diving

But; On a serious note, I haven't heard of this repeated knocking and you are the first to report it.......I'll commence operations to observe other comments in relation to this nominally

Honestly, I don't know, however; My actions on when commencing operations against the enemy is reduce speed to silent running, close all compartments aft of the command compartment, order all hands to battle stations and commence manoeuvrings against the enemy.

Sounds; I would hope play a big part in relation to enemy awareness & if you are compromised due to sound position then this simulation is better than I thought. If not then this simulation is far from realistic.
