Default DotMod Torpedo Weapons Icons

Hello, I was wondering if anyone knew specifically what the weapons settings icons mean? I am specifically referring to the Torpedo setting which has the submarine icon with one or two arrows above it and one below it. I am assuming below arrow is for attacking the sub underneath?

There is also the ship icon for the torpedoes. Is this for wake homing or something else? It seems the torpedoes using that setting seem to be fooled by ship countermeasures.

I could be wrong, but that may indicate it could be searching for enemy target above and below. I'll ask the DotMod folks.

Definitive answer coming from Dot himself:
Quote:
Ship - torpedo will lock only at surfaced targets including surfaced submarines.
Sub - torpedo will lock only at submerged targets including sinking ships.
If no sub or ship is present on the icon then torpedo will lock at any type of target

Verticall arrow up - SHALLOW mode - torpedo wil go to the depth of 29.75 feet ( 9.07 m) after launch
Horizontal arrow - LEVEL mode - torpedo will stay at the depth it was launched (with some correction (I hope ) for surface-launched torpedoes
Verticall arrow down - DEEP mode - torpedo wil go to the depth of 295.26 feet (90 m) or if there is a layer present to 29.75 feet ( 9.07 m) below the layer

2 verticall arrows down and a sub - VERYDEEP_SUB mode - torpedo wil go to the depth of 655,89 feet (200 m) and will lock only at submerged targets.

VERYDEEP_SUB proved itself not that useful so IIRC it is used only for 1 torpedo type for testing.

I noticed when I select ship the torpedo remains level and continues to run deep instead of rising to a few meters below the surface to target a ship. I find that using the regular up level or down is preferable.
