Why did I keep missing?

So last night, I was at a 90 degree angle from a passing destroyer and I thought I had lined up the perfect salvo with two TII torpedoes, firing when he was at about 10 degrees and less than 1,000 meters away, without being spotted.

I'll admit, I'm using auto-TDC. I know, I'm not that hardcore. I salute those of you using manual.

But anyway, I kept missing. Not by a lot, but it's as if the auto-TDC was miscalculating his speed. I even tried to "lead" the destroyer by aiming the periscope at his bridge rather than the middle of the ship. Still missed. When I finally did score two hits, the only difference was that the seas were calm on the final attempt. And I had done it the standard way, aiming right at the middle of the target.

Do rough seas interfere with the TDC or perhaps slow down your torpedoes?

rough seas can mess up the eels but with TWoS is update to the latest not using preheated electic eels so 28 instead of 30 speed on them and shorten range with manual with steam i was hitting 100% of my shots and where i am at when i went electric eels i was lucky to hit 25% so i though i was messing up so same target i switch it over to auto aiming at mot the eels if hit was at the props if i aim at the bow i hit mot if the target sitting still you hit where you aim at so i downloaded a mod from here gave the 30kts back and range started hitting again where i was aiming with auto so switch back to manual and was hitting too since then i make sure i use that mod which only work for TWoS you might try it see if it helps you
