Default Has anyone tried this? (SD Radar)

Always bothered me how SD radar is rendered in SH 4. First, no display other than the map. Second, SD was not directional, it simply alerted to an aircraft and gave a distance, the game gives direction.

Noticed when I was adjusting the SV radar some that what believe was SD radar had variable for controlling direction etc. Wondering if could be made where it is non directional but still alert to aircraft ? If anyone has tried? Trying to save myself some time.

You can limit its "width of efficiency", if you will, in other words, make it to where it only works between certain heights, and / or degrees on the compass, but about the only to not have it show you the airplane, is to turn off all map contacts. I had experimented with making the initial little "box" images "invisible", but you lose the ships also. So maybe just the airplanes, but then when you get the Improved SJ, or SD or SV, where you are supposed to get the direction and flight path info, you get nothing - besides still getting the little SD radar "box" shape... I don't know if there is a way around that. May-haps someone else does, or has another "outside the box" idea.

Also, was SD antenna actually one that could be raised when submarine was submerged or is that a gamey feature? Have been juggling if want to eliminate that in favor of being able to turn the SD on and off like in FOTRS.

Yes, SD could be raised and lowered while submerged.
