As if the people sent there would've actually stayed in Rwanda.

The plan was unworkable from the start.

In the meantime, the SNP are using Labour's conniptations over Gaza to their advantage:

Will SNP motion highlight division in Labour Party?

The game's afoot, to quote a dead baldy playwright.

Mike.

Rishi Sunak says he will introduce emergency legislation on the Rwanda asylum plan, after the Supreme Court ruled the scheme was unlawful.

The prime minister says the legislation will "confirm Rwanda is safe", after the court said there was a "real risk" people could be sent back to places they fled from.

Sunak says change is needed to prevent the "merry-go-round" of legal challenges the government has faced over their flagship policy.

Earlier, Sunak said the government was already working on a new treaty with Rwanda.

This is the perfect song for the state of party politics in the UK today, we've got a useless government and a useless opposition as well, don't you just want to be rid of these pillocks.

Aren't those Rwanda plans a bit older than Sunak being prime minister?

Denmark had the same plane on sending refugees to Rwanda, but was stopped by EU's Human rights court.

Yep this EU spoils all the good plans
I take it those plans were laid out during Johnson's time and any successor has to deal with the toxic outcome.

Braverman's statements about Sunak, and especially the police are proving to be 100% correct, we once had a police force that the British and the world admired and now we don't even have a police force that works.

Ban all these demonstrations Today you muppets and stop these Terrorist supporting bastards from befouling British Memorials.

If you are in government confronting a colossal challenge and the law isn't working for you, you can change the law.

And that is what ministers now plan to do.

Rishi Sunak gloats about inflation fall that's nothing to do with him as millions suffer.

Quote:
Rishi Sunak crowed over inflation falling, even though it had nothing to do with him and millions still struggle with the cost of living.

The PM gloated “we’ve done it” after the consumer prices index dropped sharply last month, from 6.7% to 4.6%. Mega-rich Mr Sunak pledged in January – when inflation was 10.7% – the Government would halve it this year. But the Office of National Statistics said the main reasons were a drop in energy prices and Bank of England rate hikes – both outside Government control.

Paul Johnson, director of the Institute for Fiscal Studies, said: “The job of cutting inflation is for the Bank of England.” He branded the PM’s January pledge “opportunistic” given inflation was expected to fall anyway. Others said the cost of living misery is far from over for very many families.

While inflation has fallen year-on-year, it is still 16% higher than two years ago. Energy bills are nearly 50% above where the were before Russia ’s invasion of Ukraine. Food and drink price inflation has ease, but still stood at 10.1% last month. Grocery prices remain a budget-busting 30% higher than in 2021.

Inflation is still 16% higher than two years ago. Energy bills are nearly 50% up and groceries 30% more expensive than in 2021. Paul Carberry, chief executive at Action for Children, said: “It may be mission accomplished for Government but prices continue to rise and the choice of what to go without becomes more brutal.”

The Joseph Rowntree Foundation said in October, 5.9million households went hungry and a quarter borrowed money. JRF chief analyst Peter Matejic said: “The people who had to take on debt in order to eat, or the people who took something they cherished to a pawnbroker just to buy warm clothes for their children, are not feeling the financial security Rishi Sunak promises.

“They live in a world where their income, in many cases, simply doesn’t cover costs while the Government talks about cutting their support further.” Labour’s shadow chancellor Rachel Reeves said now was not the time for Conservative ministers to be “popping champagne corks and patting themselves on the back”.

The ONS said “core” inflation - which strips out volatile factors and is closely watched by the Bank of England - eased to 5.7% With wage growth slowing, economists believe the Bank will start cutting interest rates by the middle of next year.

.....aaannd the the SNP succeed in embarrassing Sir Keir Starmer and cause a ruckus within Labour:

Keir Starmer suffers major Labour rebellion over Gaza ceasefire vote

Meanwhile, within the semi-detached bubble that is Scottish Politics, the SNP administration's Health Secretary has got himself in a spot of bother over a government iPad and data use whilst on holiday:

Health secretary Michael Matheson racked up £7k data fee in one day

Michael Matheson says sons used iPad data to watch football

Considering he's even less usefull than Useless himself....

Speaking of:

Two sentenced for racially abusing FM Humza Yousaf

It sounds like a good idea on paper but they'll **** that up as usual, I would also counter that with the missing Billions from the Covid Fraud, you wont see the Tories going after any of those people because Ministers and Lords were involved in it.
Typical Tory W anchors picking on the weakest once again, don't you remember the Bedroom Tax and the sick and disabled, McVey should be appointed the Chief Auditor of Cemeteries and crematoriums, it's the only thing she's ever been good at filling.

Labour takes 27-point poll lead as Rishi Sunak's resurrection of David Cameron backfires
https://www.msn.com/en-gb/news/uknew...52ad6e95&ei=10

Yep, it was always going to be a step backwards, 3 previous failed Ministers and 1 of them was PM for six years, too many people would like to see Cameron and McVey hanging from a rope.

Scottish health secretary Michael Matheson's pitiful own goal as he clings on to his job after admitting he had not told the truth about his £11,000 iPad bill and blaming his sons for racking up the charges by watching football on holiday

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...l-holiday.html

Matheson finally tells the truth, if he had admitted to it in the first place this wouldn't have been an issue, but money and Ministers raises its ugly head once again, once they have their grubby hands around a wad of banknotes you'd need a bleeding jackhammer to prise their fingers open.

Now to the bigger question, were these kids supervised all the time they watched the football match or were they not?, if not, then why not?, it is a government device after all, which I suspect contains some sensitive material on it. I'm sure Matheson would lie about that too, what a dodgy character he is, and useless Yousaf doesn't come out of this farce without egg on his face either..

Well....surprise surprise, who'd have thought this possible?

Quote:
Levelling up projects aimed at reducing regional inequality have been beset by delays, the spending watchdog has said.

Following the 2019 election, ministers allocated £9.5bn to schemes to boost towns, local transport and culture.

However, the National Audit Office has now warned that, as of March this year, less than £1bn had been spent.
