start a NEW CAMPAIGN. Try that and see what is hapen. Remember: that is just a gues!(if you have a lot of frame drops in game lower ,,shadow'' - ,,particles density,, and go at zero ..antialiasing'' - those you found in video setings in game!) Bye! Bye! |

ghost convoy
Hi!
I'm sorry if this has been already reported, 60 odd pages of bug descriptions is a lot of reading. I've just experienced another bug of this game. 1. I had a map contact for a merchant ship. I plotted its aproximate course and I intercepted it just to find out it's a convoy. Great! Only... when I dived to periscope depth and waited (on 32x speed) for it to pass over me so I can pick the best targets, I lost contact with the convoy which was already about 5000 meters away from me. When I looked with the outside camera, there was nothing there. So, I loaded the game again, this time I stayed on the surface (foggy night, escort wouldn't notice me) and I went straight on. When I switched to map for a few seconds I lost the convoy again. It just vanished. Maybe I lost it in the fog. So, load the game again, charge into the convoy, dive, the last to torpedos off at a tanker, two hits. Just then, when I was watching with the outside camera if the escort's after me... the whole convoy vanished right before my eyes. -_^ What's that about? If it's not a bug... then what? No screenshots, as before it happens you'd see a normal convoy, and after it happens it's only an empty ocean. (25th Oct 1939, 21:40) 2. Something I experienced a bit earlier on. I made a visual contact with a 4 ship group of destroyers actively searching for something (a sub, presumably). I dived and slowed down to minimum speed at silent running. At this point two of the destroyers went in my direction but started circling some 2 km away from me. After a few minutes of no change I decided to crawl away east. The whole group moved east with me. I changed course and went north, the whole group moved north with me but stayed in their positions relative to me. When I stopped and waited, they stayed in their spots as well. What's going on? If they know where I am why won't they just attack me? If they don't know where I am (which they shouldn't at this distance) how are they keeping their relative positions with me. O_o |

@ stoianm: Thanks for the hint about the AI mod. I'll check it out.
With the convoy though, it wasn't the matter of the fog. When I would load the game, I would be quite a long way away from the convoy and I could see it. I can hear them through the hydrophones and even if I don't see them through the periscope I can use the external camera and fly to the convoy. It's there. Only at certain point it vanishes. Nothing at all. External camera shows no ships, no hydrophone contact. I don't think the fog would affect the hydrophones So, it must be a bug. For now it only happened once. Hope it won't happen again. If this series is getting more and more bugged and generally poor quality, I don't think I'll be buying the SH6 if it's ever out. |

another incredibly annoying thing
I know this is technically not a bug but sure feels like one.
I bought the game, collector's edition for that. As I did all other SH titles I played (3 and 4). So, an honest player, payed Ubisoft. I've just found a 30 minutes during the day to relax after the whole day of hard work before I go to sleep. Turns out I can't play. Ubisoft is doing something to their servers. I only wanted to play single player campain! Why do I feel like I'm being punished for being honest? Is Ubisoft forcing me to download a crack and play as if it was a pirated copy? Then what's the point of having the genuine game? At the same time quite a few people a little less honest play the game without such problems. HEY! Ubisoft! I'm paying you quite some money! Hard earned money! I expect a quality product for the money! Don't waste my time! |

Im sorry if this has already been addressed, but I was wondering if anyone else has this issue or maybe I am doing something wrong.
When I go to map section and plot the course, I can plot the entire course and waypoint but yet my Sub just moves in circles for no reason. Anyone else have this problem? |

XP vs Vista
Last year I picked up a copy SH5 cheaply and installed on my vista system 3Ghz. The result is a very slow and lunky experiance that never ran SH5 at it's lavish best with all feature boxes ticked, 3d clouds etc.. As a result the game was preforming bad, also looked bad,
I took the game off and shelved it. But I had the good fortune to pick up an XP system cheaply which also runs at 3Ghz, similar graphics card and same MB, result, the game is a blistering sucess and now runs at full throttle flat out with every slider running at full and every box ticked. Just why that is I'm not sure, maybe a 4Ghz Vista would put things right. But the systems do not compare even though they are simular in spec and even made bu the same company. hope this helps some1, oh yes, no cdt yet, heh, sid. |

I can tell you why, Vista. Vista is a MEMORY HOG! Vista was eating up most, if not all, your system memory leaving hardly nothing for SH5. XP and Win7 do not exhibit this memory hog problem.

yeah, that may well be right about Vista, I have'nt done any chex to varify memory useage, but some thng about Vista is hanging out in the wind . I read what you said about ATI as well, so Vista with ATI is a bummer, loose loose all the way.
But SH5 on XP with Nvidia 9600GT seems to show better results, might even try a few mods, heh. sid |

CPU requirements
Hello forum. When I run "Can U Run it" for this game it tells me my CPU could be a little better. I was under the impression that a GPU is more important than a good CPU for this game. Is SH5 very CPU intensive? I have a C2D e6700 (2.66 ghz)
