Has anybody figured out the thumping sound problem for sure yet. I love this sound mod but the thumping drives me nuts.

Great mod Sailor Steve.
I tried replacing several files and am now pretty certain it's Submarine_Surface_INT.wav Replace it with the default file and the thumping has gone away. You can also try deleting it altogether (or rename it to Submarine_Surface_INT.wav.bak) I think it always happened when I used Persicope-Depth and Surface-The-Boat commands during time compression. Practically every time. Remark: Initially I also had Submarine_GQ_battle_stations_INT.wav disabled (as suggested by limkol) so half my testing time were without that one too. Disable it as well, to be sure, and see if the thumping goes away.

I made a fix for it some time ago that has been working fine for me, and I started a new thread for it. I'm sorry I forgot to post it here.

Hi Sailor Steve,
I really like yous Sound Mod and use it a lot! In a SH V speech Mod I found a nice file "Mündungsklappen öffnen!" / "Open the tubes!" from the "Das Boot Movie. Is it possible to add that sequence to Your SH IV Speech Mod? You can find that SH V Mod here: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=163390 Beste Grüße, Kurfürst

Submarine_Surface_INT.wav was a before - after effect. Meaning the thumping was there with it and gone when I removed it. So it could be that it solves the problem in general. Perhaps.

Hello guys, new to the forum, and i really want this mod..
I am complete noob with mods , so i have problem with enabling this mod. i have enabled OM, in this order: OPSMonsun_V705 OMv705_to_V720 OMv720_Patch5 Then i tried to enable DBSM_SH4 and JSGME froze. Then i disabled OM and tried to enable DBSM first. JSGME enabled it, and froze again when i tried to enable OM. So at this point it's either OM or DBSM. Help wanted... |

WELCOME ABOARD!
I was just about to tell you about the very long install time, but I see you figured it out. Glad you like the mod. I sure do. Be sure to take a look at the readme for the names of the talented team who put it together, back in the SH2 days.

I played SH3 for long time, and some 3 months ago i started with SH4, but U-boat is U-boat... no replacement for U-displacement...
Stock sounds were really lame... i really mised those crew life sounds like wispering, coughing, flushing the toilet , small things like that. after all, (i guess) that most people play this game to expirience what was it like to be there, and without any modifications it sounds like you're alone on the boat most of the time. i know you must of heard it for hundreds of times, but i wish i know anything about this stuff, it would rock to create really atmospheric sound mod... im nuts, i know... |

[edit] I listened to Submarine_relieve_watch_INT in my installation and all I hear is a click, which means I blanked that file. Listen to it in yours. If you hear the whistle then you somehow have the wrong file. If you hear a click then I made a mistake, and it's tied to a different file.
