[REL] Kill Flags Mod

Sorry DT, I should have specified this earlier:

I just switched to the USS Drum (formerly USS Grenadier) before this last patrol, so the single-patrol info was actually correct totals for this boat. The total tonnage of 98,907 is my correct total for both subs as well. Are we supposed to keep the total tonnage for all boats, or just for the current one? If it's supposed to be for the current sub only, then the tonnage is 36,828.

Again, sorry for the confusion.
Appreciate the great attention to detail though!!

No problem, skipper, just wanted to make sure I got my facts straight. As far as the tonnage goes, realistically it would be accurate just to use the tonnage for the current sub (sort of). If you got the boat straight out of the yard, the tonnage (and kills on the flag) would only be the ones you got on that boat.

If you want to get technical, it's possible that you got the boat from another skipper, in which case the kills and tonnage would still be on the flag when you got it. In the game, however, we would have no way of knowing who was the skipper before you or what their totals were, so............

Now that I've totally muddied up the question, the simple answer is there is no simple answer:rotfl: , but I would stick with what you've accomplished with the boat. When you do the next patrol report, just give me the numbers which ever way you decide would be realistic for you and I'll do it that way.

Thanks for turning on your PMs, too, BTW. I try to do updates by PM (except for skippers new to the mod and new boats) so I don't end up with a billion posts and break Neal's ranking system:rotfl: .

Kraken just returned from her fifteenth war patrol. Things got dicey this time and she returned to base with two torpedoes left after losing both periscope heads to a depth charge attack. Don't feel to badly for her, over 20k tons isn't too shabby on TM and RSRD. Can we add a blind man's cane to the conning tower to commemorate this blind return trip from the shores of Japan?

If someone could give me a dummies guide to convert a bmp.file to a jp(whatever) I have the kodak share file that it wants to go to, can I get some tips and clues. I tried and it gave me an error message.....

Right-click on the file, and you will get a message box with several options. One of these will be "Open With..."

One of the options for opening it should say "Paint". You will then see a Paint program box with your picture in it. Click on "File" and select "Save As". At the bottom will be a drop down menu that says "Save As Type". This will let you select the save format, and you will have a jpeg picture ready for uploading.

Hi.

I want to join the kill flag family, and i have some questions. It sais that i have to report a new boat that is not listed below. This means what exactly? Does it mean that i can use SS-194 if i get that ingame? Ore do i have to come up with a new name, new ss number, create an emblem and then report it in? U see i just started a new career with a Sargo class sub.

But to see if i understand correct. I can use the same emblem and name as another captain, i just file a report.
If i want a spechial boat i "can create it", and register it. but this is not manditory?

Hope u can help me clearefy this.

Welcome, fagras. No need to worry about noobishness, we all were noobs in the beginning. Let me try to clarify the procedure.

1) The game assigns you a boat (or you assign yourself one by making changes to some game files)

2) You go to Battleflags.net submarine list and look in your class of boat to see if we have already "built" your sub.

3a) If the sub is there, you download it, extract it, put it in your MODS folder and activate it like any mod.

3b) If the sub is not there, then you request it here and we "build it" and let you know when it's done so you can download it. If you can't find an emblem (or trust us completely to give you a good one) we have sources to get emblems and patches. If you go looking for an emblem/patch yourself, make sure and get the best quality and largest image you can find. The bigger and better the patch image is, the better the patch will look on the flag and the emblem will look on the sub.

4) At the end of each patrol, you file a patrol report at the link in the first post in this thread. In this patrol report you give us your TOTALS for the sub that you are currently in command of.

If you have any more questions, just keep asking 'till we get it answered.

Know my requested boat isnt built yet, but i finnished first patroll and reported it inn to you!

SS197 USS Seawolf was actualy the boat i got from the game, so i dont need to change anything...

Now i only await my Emblem

Thanx for what u are doing.

BTW, If u find a better emblem u are approved to use it, the one i reffered to was the biggest one i found...

I've gotten a little behind because of RL (didn't know I had one, but it showed up again :rotfl: ). All is quiet now, so I should be able to catch up today.
