No. Dr. Evil did his schooling with Ducimus as headmaster...

that's not the story i read. episode 3 (goldmember) explained dr. evil's childhood and there was no reference to ducimus. only an evil belgian guy and his web-footed wife. and you know what country belgium is next to, don't you?
@Bleiente. we're just having a bit of fun.

Found a bit of a major problem. I submerged to hide from some planes, as I regularly do, but this time, when I surfaced, the watch crew didn’t appear on the tower, and CO2 started building up - despite the fact that the diesels were running!

By the way, NEVER use Alt-Tab to return to the desktop while leaving the game loaded. Some have said this Alt-Tab procedure is what causes the Co2 buildup, however it's been my past experience that it was NOT how I had it happen to me when playing the Stock game. It just happened. But, the advice of not using the Windows "shortcut" Alt-Tab is still a good one. SH4 doesn't like you leaving it running in the background while you step away.....exit the game.

A couple of questions...
I have a couple questions.
1) - Are all Sampans and Fishing Boats to be considered "enemy" Sampans? 2) - What is the radius of the enemy air patrols? I'm guessing around 450 nm. 3) - Have night time enemy air patrols been implemented? If so, when do the night time enemy air patrols occur beginning 1942? 1943? 1944? 1945? I tried searching but couldn't find any direct references to these questions. Thanks!

Not all fishing boats are enemy controlled, some are friendly. You need to be aware that detection by them are the same as the Sampans if enemy controlled. Question #2....Each plane has a MaxRadius= parameter in it's .cfg file. This is what defines how far a plane will travel from it's base (land or carrier). For instance, a Kate is set to 600 (which is believed to be in Kilometers. The game doesn't give us a "How to Modify" instruction on the matter!). A Betty is 1800. If it's converted to Nautical Miles then 1800 k is about 972 nm; 600 k is 324 nm. Sine each plane can have different MaxRadius figures it's hard to say what will be the actual distance traveled. There is no random "Patrol" flight from the base. If planes are overhead, their either "scripted" to be going from point A to B in the mission, or they are spawned from a close base source (land or carrier) due to a detection by the enemy. The plane will head towards the last known detected position, and will rely on it's sensors (visual or other) to attack the enemy if found. Question #3.....As I said above, the planes are not randomly flying about, or simply on patrol for no good reason. There is no "implementation of night time patrols" in the game. The game has a "modifier" that (among other factors) will determine the "chance" for night time attacks to take place. This "modifier" is 0.4 in Ultimate, where the Stock game had it at 0.5. Again, it's our best guess that lowering this modifier, lowers the chance of night time attacks (where's the game instructions to modding?!?). However it does not eliminate it; nor is there a "Date/Specific Year" parameter influencing night time attacks that can be implemented.

... and, while I'm not certain as to its 'completeness' in the search, to target a particular thread only, you would have to use something like duckduckgo for the search engine. You go to the first page of a thread you want to search, and copy the address. Then go to duckduckgo and type "site:" in the search box, and then paste the copied addess. Doing such with the FotRSU thread would have a search term like
"site:http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=226270 sampan"which would yield this hit: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...73#post2564673If you do a similar search in google, it will find many more hits, since it searches the site and not just the thread. You might be able to limit the search with their Advanced settings, but it's easier to use duckduckgo. Although, as you can see, it doesn't get the new "hit" of your above post... |

Something similar has to do with my findings of playing the game on my Windows XP system and playing it on my Windows 10 computer. I've actually "timed" events on one computer, compared to the other, and have seen differences in outcomes! The faster computer delivers faster results than the slower computer. I forget what I was doing some months ago, but to get to the same world position using time compression took longer in actual game time for the slower Windows XP computer, than it did on the much faster Windows 10 machine! Which does nothing but spell TROUBLE for trying to figure out what one person discovers, can't be found by another player due to computer spec differences!?!
