@Hanomag. Great pix. I feel safer in this BBS now Just a point of interest. You said you were in 1/508 Airborne, is that a division of the famous 1st Airborne of all over Europe in '44-45 fame? I'm not too clued up on U.S. military units, but I just wondered. A proud regiment

Forty years ago I spent my time protecting this ole country.
That's me on the bottom right in the first photo. USS Ethan Allen SSBN 608 (Blue) We were surfaced having a little picnic off the Canary Island's after we had just launched (7) A-2 missiles towards a Navy target range near the Windward Islands 2,500 miles down range. We launched them one minute apart and all seven landed within fifty yards of the target. We got the Presidential Unit Citation award for the feat, but we couldn't wear the ribbon due to the (at that time) Top Secret operation. See the 7-up flag behind me. USS Ethan Allen SSBN 608 (Blue) Sonar gang I'm the white guy (lol) standing up second from the right.

Ok, I cant even find the spot i reserved for meself, new turn now!
Ok Name is Dale age is 21 Live in the greatest country in the world, n im just slightly proud of it :p Im in a relationship with the greatest shortass the world has ever seen, my 4'11 italian dynamo, problem is she's gone back to the old country for a few months to visit rellies after she finished her degree. I've always been into military hardware and history, well any history really, i love it. SH3 wasnt the first sim i played, but was the first sub sim i bought. I browsed this site a loot, but never joined, spent a lot more time at ubi forums, then made the switch when things took a turn i didnt like - i dun even remember what that was anymore. I've had all sorts of jobs, a Juice bar for a few years, was at a pharmacy for a few years which i worked my way up at and ended up managing, I've worked for 2 different govt departments over a coupla years, I now work at an IT company managing 13k printers and copiers nationwide on my lonesome. I'm also a State level footy umpire, gunning for national level next year. Never had 1 job at a time, might call me a sucker for punishment. Oh im also now an army reservist, just another thing to add to my list I'll pop up a photo shortly, when i get a half decent upload rate, but thats about all the relevent things i can think about |

I didn't want to join this elite thread until I got rid of the dreamy fatso avatar. The picture below was taken by a dentist from La Rochelle. Kenya 1983, when you still had to contact the operator to make a trunk long distance call.

I always wondered what you looked like Mr chris ... if I was in Iraq and saw you coming I would definitely turn around and go the other way.
Post a picture when you come back from Basra too ... so we can all breathe a sign of relief ...

Watch Yer Step!!!
After digging through some photos looking for some stuff I found these...
This picture was painted on the ground in front of our (1/508th) chow hall at Fort Kobbe in Panama. It was always under constant guard by some hidden NCO. If even a shadow of your boot fell upon this Icon a booming voice would come over the loudspeaker commanding you to "Drop, Push Earth, Front lean and rest, Kiss the Dirt..etc." After seeing the camo'd face of the soldier above I felt encourage to post my own. But since I was just another dogface paratrooper I figured I would pay homage to the greatest commander whom I have had the privilidge to serve under. My company commander C 1/508th lt abn. He was the kind of Captain you would follow into the very bowels of hell, just because we loved and respected him. I dont know where he is now but I often think of him. He was hard charging but cared about his men. Captain Kirk Davis. Take Care gang and happy hunting!
