Look for Observer's post a page back on this thread. Download the files, then install them as instructed.

If you're up to it, try lurker's suggestion on the previous page of this thread. It should work.
Everyone, please post any NYGM/SH3Cmdr compatibility problems on the appropriate NYGM thread. Only the NYGM team can "officially" fix the problem. |

I would guess not if you use lurker's fix. Otherwise, you'll have to wait for NYGM to post a working fix.
But I've never used NYGM, so I am really not the best person to help you. Last edited by JScones; 07-08-06 at 05:54 AM. |

A question for you on multiple installs. Here's a reply from awhile ago which I pulled from my notes- "1. Install SH3 and v1.4b patch. 2. Copy the clean SH3 installation and paste it. Rename the new "Copy of SilentHunterIII" to "SilentHunterIII - GW". 3. Copy the clean SH3 installation and paste it. Rename the new "Copy of SilentHunterIII" to "SilentHunterIII - NYGM". 4. Install GW into "SilentHunterIII - GW". 5. Install NYGM into "SilentHunterIII - NYGM". Test each mod by running the SH3.exe file direct from each folder (or create shortcuts on your desktop to each). If you run SH3Cmdr, you can alternatively use it to manage your different SH3 installations. Then, after you've formulated your own opinion, simply delete the modded SH3 that you don't like, or keep both and play whichever one at whichever time takes your fancy." I've had dual installs before with no problems One for playing and one for testing but only used Commander to launch the played version. Now that I have NYGM & GW I'd like to get Commander to launch & manage both. I currently have "SilentHunterIII - NYGM" & "SilentHunterIII - GW" both are working ok seperately but I have a single install of Commander 2.6 when I go to launch I get a window showing the file path and a message "Cannot find sh3.exe in this folder. Please tell where Silent Hunter III is installed." I'm not understanding something here. Could you please help me with this? Since Commander has a modified set of files in the CFG folder for NYGM only (as per previous Lurker post) does this mean I need two installs of Commander also(I like this idea). If so how is this accomplished?

"C:\<Path>\SH3 Commander\SH3Cmdr.exe" /l:"C:\<InstallPath>\SilentHunterIII - NYGM" "C:\<Path>\SH3 Commander\SH3Cmdr.exe" /l:"C:\<InstallPath>\SilentHunterIII - GW" This forces SH3Cmdr to use these locations rather than use the one stored in the Registry (ie the original installation path). To create the shortcuts, just right click somewhere on your desktop, select New|Shortcut and enter the location as above, press Next then enter a suitable name, then press Finish. Done. Then, all you need do is click the icon for the version of SH3 that you want to play. SH3Cmdr does the rest. ONE warning though. If you run "SH3 - NYGM" then want to run "SH3 - GW" afterwards, you MUST first rollback SH3 - NYGM, otherwise, when you run SH3 - GW, you will cross pollenate it with NYGM files. For example: ALWAYS -Run SH3Cmdr NYGM shortcut -Play game -ROLLBACK SH3Cmdr NYGM -Run SH3Cmdr GW shortcut -Play game -ROLLBACK SH3Cmdr GW NEVER -Run SH3Cmdr NYGM shortcut -Play game -Run SH3Cmdr GW shortcut -Play game Alternatively, you can install (or copy) SH3Cmdr again to a different location. Then, you can point one shortcut to SH3Cmdr installation #1, and the other to SH3Cmdr installation #2. Then you will not have this rollback problem. For example: "C:\<Path>\SH3 Commander Copy 1\SH3Cmdr.exe" /l:"C:\<InstallPath>\SilentHunterIII - NYGM" "C:\<Path>\SH3 Commander Copy 2\SH3Cmdr.exe" /l:"C:\<InstallPath>\SilentHunterIII - GW" The problem with this approach though is that your SH3Cmdr.ini files will get out of sync with each other. But that's prolly less of a problem than your whole game getting out of sync! But I'd only recommend this second approach if you think the first approach will cause problems for you. just an idea for the next release.
Why dont you add an ability to change your torpedo loadout in SH3 Commander. I know wolf made a tweek pack, but if u use SH3 commander it over rights the edited basic.cfg. That would make this handy program x10 more handy ![]()

In any event, here is an updated set of files, tested with the final version of SH3 Commander.

If I just installed the GW Mod, is the SH3Commander 2.6 will be all right or it will freeze the game at one point.
Should I just go and installed the 2.5 version Is there significant changes in 2.6 so that I should take a chance with that version? Thanks P.s. I just installed GW on a fresh install (stock game). Is the problem with 2.6 is based on a previous install of 2.5 or it is a problem in general? Thanks |
