I think y'all arguing is at this point futile, nobody's going to budge from their platform. So just agree to disagree, and go sink some merchants already! Its much more fun than this topic at this point.

Yes and there are always alternatives as long as our modders live and breathe.

Arrrgh!

I should re-state what I am trying to say I guess.

There are always alternatives to dealing with questionable sources/parties/potential software pirates and/or piracy....

Which is how I view X-1 and all related.

I'm not going to quantify or qualify my stated opinion. I don't have the time to do so.

Besides, the Subsim community faithful have largely echoed my thoughts on the matter anyway.

Boycott X-1

Come to Subsim.com and get what you want regarding add-ons free and clean.

IMO, it was the mod community that made SH3 an excellent game rather than a decent short of its potential program.
Still, I look at my highly tweaked version and it is so unique that no one has anything like it.
I like to mod. That is part of the fun.
So do others here like to mod. I hope they also enjoy it.
The majority of people do not mod in spite of the dozens that post here believing they represent the whole SH3 community and all think just like them.
Dream on.
The new Seawolves Mediterranean, to those that do not mod, will improve their game considerably. The fact it will cost them an hour of their wages and allow them to simply play and enjoy escapes the majority here and that is almost unbelievable how that is not understood.
Most do not want to mod. They buy PC games to play.
I understand and agree with those that boycott X-1.
I understand and agree with those that do not care and want to buy a Mod add on and enjoy themselves.
And Jason, if you think your criticizing me for having all the time in the world to do exactly what I please every day of my life well is a cut, well, you are not alone. People can not understand how I can enjoy myself so much and am busy day and night never having time for TV and such when I have no obligation to do a thing. It is called self modivation.

In support of those who are shady. With a reputation like X1 and CombatPlanes have, it sounds like it's better to light my money on fire.

And that's a lot if you're buying from a scammer. You have no recourse once you've been screwed over. You think Amazon is going to refund your money? Heh.

And those people don't read this forum and don't know they're supporting a company of lies and thieves.

snip annoying oversized sig
No, I critize for your continued support of proven scammers. Your determination to defend X1 and CP is just sickening.

What your describe sounds like unemployment, to me.

Why not employ some of that self motivation towards a good course in grammar, eh?

kthxbye.

Being an X-1 apologist seems to be a lot of work, but the effort must be about as rewarding as being an SCO apologist at a Linux forum...

"What your describe sounds like unemployment, to me. "

That would be true if I wanted employment.
Even when I did work for a living as a freelance photojournalist and then a travel writer it was by assignment.
Have you noticed I don’t mind having a different point of view? How long do think that would last at a job (ugh, the word job is sick!)

I enjoy complete freedom. I wake up when I open my eyes not buy any schedule.

I do hear of people that can’t function without a job but that amazes me. I love having 24/7 all to myself.

J, I am beginning to think we don’t agree on this!

Bad grammar??? I ain’t gots no book lernen!

Yes, I eventually became really bored. Instead of shillin' for X1 I ended up getting a job with a good company, cool people, and a flexible schedule. It's quite nice. The pay is certainly nice.
