I killed a Hurricane with my mighty Fiat G.50, but then Hunter's server crashed and I lost it

Hah! Serves you right! :p Nevermind, I attacked Stuka 2-3 times, hitting it heavily and an a twut AI swooped in and stole the kill.
Ow yeh, the AI is a master marksman too! I observed 2 Stukas being shot down by the other Hurricanes and it took them under a second lasting burst from behind to smoke the poor Luftwaffles. |

Yeah, but Stukas aren't exactly flying tanks
Now Sturmoviks, try shooting those down!

Just pepper their belly. With cannons, the first shot to the radiator will damage the engine and usually cause a fuel leak. Same with MGs, you can atleast damage the engine. And if you're reeeaaal lucky, you can kill the pilot by shooting the bottom. The IL2 is tough, but if there's no enemy escort, you're in control of the fight, stay below & behind them, make pop-shots at the belly and they'll go crashing down.

With .50 cals you can too. I practice gunnery in the Mustang quite a lot against IL2s, and see a surprising amount of loose wings and tail sections

Interesting sortees tonight
Got a Gladdie on my tail and couldn't shake him, then my fuel ran out thanks to a leak Second sortee I got some kind of microphone going Was too busy chatting to Schroeder and Hunter that I didn't spot the Hurricanes until they opened fire on me even though Kratos had called them, I didn't hear him Third sortee saw us clearing the way for the Italians and their Stuka escort, Schroe called out four Spits at his twelve o clock (my two o clock) I turned to intercept, but on the first pass one of the Spits destroyed my engine So, I turned and glided back over the front and crash landed just on our side of the lines, Kratos wasn't so lucky, he got his engine smashed up and then another Spit come along to pay him a visit. He's now in a Britischer prison camp I left at that point as it was the last mission and I was out |

Anyone up to continue the Mareth Line campaign tonight? That is, if Hunter wants to have a day off. :hmm:
