Got one, that's the problem The mike is too close to the headphones by the looks of it.

Yep

My 20€ Trust headset(with mic) does the job well enough for most games, though I look like a bloody Jihad-telemarketer with that and the Freetrack LED Cap that has some wiring visible

I'm using this one:

http://www.ms-tech.de/en/produkte/he...m-88/pic.shtml

The mic is attached to the cable and hanging just slightly below my left shoulder and yet it works.

@Oberon

I'm afraid I don't know exactly what "by the looks of it" means.
Does it pick up the sound of your headphones?
You can reduce the sensitiveness of TS so it won't switch the mic on when your engine is roaring, or set a push to talk button (I'm using ctrl for that since I don't have a free button on my Joystick left).

Mine is this

I had to get one quickly when my prevoious broke, and that was the cheapest available in the local store. I might go for a surround version next.

In that case, I think the problem is that your PC transmits the voice from the mic AND from whatever there is to hear atm.

Hunter could prolly help you on naming the output's name that transfers all the PC sound like mic would. I had this with my integrated audio card, if I was, for example, listening to music on my PC and would press the talk button on TS, everyone would hear the music.

"by the looks of it" means that it looks as though the problem might be the microphone is too close to the headphone and it's picking up the headphone sounds, however Dowly has a good point.

This is what I've got, and as far as I know it worked fine, but during the flying there was a problem with communication, I can't remember if it was you Schroe or Fin that said that you couldn't hear me over the sound of the engine, I'll give it another go tonight and see how it turns out.

One thing you could try is to switch "Sound driver" to "Wave" in TS settings. At my end settings it to "Direct Sound" has exactly the effect you're experiencing: Everything I hear gets sent out.

I'll be on TS, probably flying some Hyperlobby coops if we come up with nothing else. I've also got a ****load of coop missions, so re-bombing Oleg's winterhouse is one option.

Dowly I'm sure a little JD will help you tolerate us even without Hunter present?

Well, I'm going to "take care" of some "business" (Lucky that Hunter chose today to go sleep), so I'll probably join Fin around 23:00

I dont have HB anymore, nor I fly on 'publics' either. So, it would have to be between us SubSim guys if we fly.

EDIT: Oh yeh, if needed and if we get good amount of pilots, I can host either dogfight or some DCG campaing for us to play. Either way, I stop by at 21GMT on TS.
