12 days of christmas? well, the silent service appears to expects much more than that, sailor. you'd better square away or i'll run you out of this man's navy. (not bad after 45 years, eh?) (i left out all of the cuss words...i dont want to scare the children!)

CTD - it's not just a job
|
Thanks mark bonamer. I figured it came through the DynamicMiss.cfg instead of PatrolObjectives, because the latter (PatrolObjectives) has a rather restrictive date, while the latter does not. It's easy enough to create a copy, and we'll just name it slightly different from the original, leaving out the "date" requirements in the instructions, maybe moving the "target area" a pinch, and just make it an "ASAP" set of instructions. The missions (usually) are triggered by a Map Zone anyway, and will generate the "survivors" as you're enroute. Just pretend like you don't know that next time you get the assignment...

The date of the LAA version for a .NetFramework v3.5/2.0 which is "laa_2_0_4.zip" was put on this SubSim Download 07-31-2012. The LAA for a .NetFramework v4.0 and later (v4.0/4.5) is "laa_2_0_4_NetFramework_4_5.zip"......it was put onto the Large Address Aware site in mid 2016...when Windows 10 was released. These two versions of LAA are different! Intended to work with the two different .NetFramework versions that are on computers today.....either version 3.5/2.0; or version 4.0/4.5.

Two New Anomalies
In a career patrol assigned to drop an agent on Honshu, on 10/4/43 (12:59), position 143-15E, 41-14N, encountered a Yubari Class Light Cruiser in a mixed convoy of 5-6. The turrets on the Yubari are black; rest of skin looks ok.
Same patrol, on 10/8/43 (14:34) at 142-17E, 39-36-30 (approximate) encountered a five ship convoy travelling NNE in line with a single DDE escort. Curiosity and impatience got the better of me, so I used the "next ship" camera to check them out. The first ship in the convoy was surrounded by burning ships that were either jutting up into the air or completely in the air off the sea surface! My targeted convoy just sailed right through the firestorm. I then used the free camera to zoom to the convoy, only to see it serenely sailing along with no other ships in sight, burning or not. I have pictures, but if I attach them they will be thumbnails. Don't know if that will be of much use. Upon dropping the agent I saw smoke in the direction of MIYAKO, so I investigated with the free camera. There I found the burning and wrecked ships run aground or burning at the docks. By "aground", I mean some were hundreds of feet uphill from the harbor facilities. Very strange that the "next ship" camera would place them in my target convoy when they were actually miles away in Miyako, and stranger still to see them up the side of a hill. My picture (.bmp) are 1920x1080 and won't upload. EDIT: Pictures in a new entry below.

Pray tell: what technique do you use to get the screen prints to Subsim so they will be accepted? What is the native resolution of your monitor, or rather, what is the resolution of the pictures when you get them into the SH4 base folder?

My screenshots come out as 1280 x 960 Pixels (1.23 MPixels) (4:3), I believe its set to the resolution that I'm using, don't quote me on that though.
I load the image into Irfanview and go to the IMAGE menu and select RESIZE\RESAMPLE, change the width from 1280 to 800 and save it as a JPG, if you need to crop part of the said image out select the part that you want with the mouse and then go to the EDIT menu then select CROP SELECTION, save as a JPG and job is done.

I used the in-game screenshot function, then used Paint.NET to change them into .jpg format to reduce the size, then I use s7rikeback's method as below: Quote:

Trying to make the mod work
Hello guys,
Can someone point me to the guide on how to install the mega mod? I just downloaded the 100_FalloftheRisingSun_Ultimate_v0.62_PublicBeta_ file, and I'm trying to make it work with JGSME but I'm really thickheaded today due to some personal problem that has me very distracted and for the love of me I just can't find the way to make it work. I have the file and the FOTS mod files seem to be in the "data" folder? Do I create a new "FOTS" folder or something, please help.... |

Run JSGME in your SH4 install folder and click "Tasks...", then click "Generate snapshot of game files". This will help if you experience any corruption issues later, and create a subfolder called "MODS" in your SH4 directory. Extract the FOTRSU archive into this folder, then run JSGME. You should now be able to install the mod.
General notes: Make sure you haven't installed SH4 into the Program Files folders in Windows 8 or 10, and maybe 7. Make sure you're installing the mod into an unmodded version of SH4. |
