I didn't know that, the production was made behind the Ural Mountains. I know it's almost impossible to hit a train in motion I was more thinking of hitting them when they are at some stop-Loading or unloading.

Even Zelensky had to admit recently that while 12 brigades are currently set up, 8 of these practically cannot be equipped. And ColnelReisner recently explained that of the one dozen brigades the Ukrainians have engaged with this year, only three or four are "mechanized", the rest is infantry only. So bith descriptions fit each other.

The 3-4 brigades in Kursk have been thrown together mostly with material reserves the Ukrainians wanted to set aside as a stock for fitting and equippingn their planned offensive force for next year. But these reserves now have been consumed in Kursk. So what does this mean for next year? Go figure. And that they did this desparete measure despite its ruinous menaign for next year'S plans, what does that mean? That their situation is desperate and that they saw no other choice.

Wnhat material is expecte din what quntities to let them prepare new mechnized briagdes for next year? Does any nation deluver amrour and IFVs and APC in the quantities needed? The German plan to send 100 more Leopard-1s, and thats it. Reisner said they would need around 3000. To do an offensive needs you need plenty of prpotected mobility, you need anmroured transports and armoured combat support.

Where should this be coming from...???

Running an offensive with infantry only - well, have fun is all I can say, sarcastically. Russian artillery is superior in numbers by 6:1 to 10:1, depending on the sector of the front you look at.

I currently cannot see the plan for an offensive next year ever materializing. Ans that means, the Russians will continue creeping forward and advance. And since Putin is reported to find enough men by financial luring alone, he does not need to mobilize. And I say: even general mobilization would not shake the regime. It would crack down on critics and demonbstrations and unrest.

And before all that comes the next winter. Not before Spring we will know what winter has further done to Ukraine.

^ The attack on the Russia's Toropets munitions depot must have some affect on how much shells Russia can use per day and from what I know these ammo-depot are getting hit every day-The smaller one that is.

The question is can Russian production and import of shells keep Russia up to these 6:1 or 10:1 ?

Edit
According to this video the Russian artillery seems to be in crisis

Will this be a benefit for the Ukrainian army ?

Quote:
Furthermore, the law will allow foreign persons to sign contracts for officer positions with the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the State Special Transport Service, and the National Guard of Ukraine. Currently, foreigners can only serve as soldiers and sergeants.

To enable the procedure, the draft law proposes removing a clause from Ukraine’s “Law on Military Duty and Military Service” that restricts foreigners from holding officer ranks unless they obtain Ukrainian citizenship.

Ukraine attacked two Russian ammunition depots last night. The Ukrainian military confirmed this on Telegram. They are a depot in Tichoretsk in the Krasnodar region, and one in Oktiabrski, in the Tver region. The army describes the ammunition depot in Tichoretsk as one of the three largest ammunition storage sites in Russia. Ukraine also says it has information that 2,000 tonnes of ammunition were there at the time of the attack, including from North Korea. These were stores of Russian tactical missiles and guided aerial bombs.

The governor of the Krasnodar region, Veniamin Kondratyev, reported on social media that ‘a local state of emergency has been introduced to organise assistance to the population and quickly resolve all issues related to the incident’. Earlier in the day, Kondratyev had reported that more than a thousand people needed to be evacuated due to danger of explosions.

The governor claimed that a downed drone had caused a fire, yeah sure, dream on Russki.

^ Great news indeed-More of these thank you.

As one of you mentioned in an older comment-Russia has an advantage in shells up to 6/10-1. Wonder if this still stand ?

Edit

Ukraine "encircling" Russia in Kursk...? Thats a good one.

Mind you: the violet regions are not the Russians, but the Ukrainians.

Compare with the map from 5 days ago: LINK

Yes, these logistics strikes are nice - and mean more, imo, than the Kursk situation currently.

Meanwhile the Guardian has reported that Russia knew of the Kursk operation already since January.

https://www.theguardian.com/world/20...zed-papers-show

And in Wuhledar, the Ukrainians are in serious danger of being encircled. They cannot afford that since these are some of their best equipped troops in their whole army. Loosing that would be a real big hurt.

Its reported that now 80% of Ukrainian energy and heating production is destroyed, beyond repair. Winter is coming. Go figure. EU promised to send electricity and aid. Zelensky asked whether it wouldnt be simplier to send more air defence so that that aid would not be needed. He has a point.

Well, Germany sent 5000 helmets early in the war. Maybe we can also scratch together 5000 wool hats.

Could it be that Russia sees them self as unconquerable and therefore have rejected the information they got from the intelligent service ?

So great so big so many Russia can mobilize yeah sure not!
Russian aircraft carrier crew sent to frontline in Ukraine
In a surprising development, Russia has seemingly formed a mechanised battalion from the crew of its only aircraft carrier, the Admiral Kuznetsov. This new unit is reportedly involved in ground operations in Ukraine, according to open-source intelligence researcher Moklasen on X (formerly Twitter).

Initially stationed in the Kharkiv region, the battalion has since been redeployed to the Pokrovsk sector, according to the Ukrainian military. The formation of the battalion came to light after a message was shared on Russian social media platform Vkontakte, requesting help in locating personnel from military unit 78987. This unit recently gained attention following the disappearance of Oleg Sosedov, a sailor from the Admiral Kuznetsov, who went missing during a Russian operation in the Kharkiv region in July. Sosedov, also linked to the battalion, was last seen during an assault on the frontier village of Sotnytskii Kozachok. Additionally, reports indicate that Russia is also forming infantry units from members of its Aerospace Forces, with these new units playing a role in battles around Kursk... https://ukdefencejournal.org.uk/russ...ne-in-ukraine/
