Sorry, mate: you're talking to a Limey in case you didn't know it... I've never heard of Triumph beer but I'd happily stand you a pint of Sam Smith's. Oh and the second thing you said (about Chronies?) well I don't know what the heck they are either, so it looks like we'll remain divided by a common language.

Just looked it up: Shooting Chronograph. I used to shoot .303 rifles for fun (Lee Enfield no.4) but the only other piece of equipment we had was a telescope to see where the rounds went in.

Yeah, but here's the thing: straight people have never been an oppressed group. Name one country where straight people can't get married.

Straight pride doesn't exist, because straight shame doesn't exist. Straight people who died in the holocaust didn't die because they were straight, but gay people who were killed died BECAUSE they were gay.

I've been bullied for being autistic. As a result, I'm proud to be autistic. Why? Because that's who I am. Gay pride isn't being proud of being attracted to people of the same sex, it's being proud of being yourself, even though people hate you for it.

And because bigots feed on fear and control, control of someone's life to the point someone actually pretends to be something one isn't.

Going public deprives them of that food. Not being feared and not controlling someone ''different'' removes their means of projecting their own problems, their own shortcomings on to others. Like high school bullies, there's always a reason someone becomes a bully, lack of self confidence etc. As soon as their victim stops being afraid and steps up against them they loose all their power. They actually become the mocked ones. A powerless bully is a pathetic sight. Just like a powerless bigot.
That's why I love gays going public. I feed on seeing bigots squirm
