I think what the article was focusing on is food manufacturers putting caffeine in products that are not normally associated with caffeine.

Coffee? I literally can't drink coffee, the very smell of it makes me nauseous.

Some coffee based products, I like those sometimes, but coffee itself? Nope, disgusting and nauseating.
