It is an awful lot of work mate to do it for all turms and all hulls but I'll see what I can do.

Regards

just a quick posting. Please keep in my mind that I am an "indepedant" modder with a very stressful and, quite frankly, extremely "crap" work life and sadly relatively little free time to spend on modding, an activity that I have always loved with a passion.

I will do all that I can to improve Super Turms and get the new version out with as many new and improved features as I can but I cannot promise anything more than that at the moment.

It's a sad and endlessly frustrating fact of life that I cannot get the same feedback, encouragement and appreciation that I get from modding through my worklife but **** happens.

I'll continue to keep you all posted on my progress, maybe have a few hours and a positive state of mind over the coming weekend I hope. What a shame that they didn't have computers, 3d modelling and graphics when I was growing up else my life might well have taken another route, at 53 I'm too long in tooth now I feel. I feel totally "washed up" and trapped now.

Sorry about the monologue, trying to get it "off my chest" as they say.

Kind regards

Aces

Thanks my friend the only trouble is that I don't feel better I feel worse (if that's possible). Feel like I've been caught between a very hard rock and a very hard place for a very long time.

Think I'm loosing it, got to find another more satisfying way, maybe pig farming in Provence or something there has to be a better more rewarding life than this. I think my depression is getting worse, keep trying to pull things out of the hat but it's getting harder all the time.

Winston Churchill used to call them his "Black Dogs"

Kind regards as always

Leigh

Hang in there Leigh, at 61 I think I know how you feel. Just look for the little good things in life. It can be hard to do some days, but over time it helps.

on the offtopic stroll...
i got a lot of time because i aint got shafty to do.
wish it wasnt so, because when 20 Euroes is all you have for food, for an entire month...

be happy you have a Job. Seriously.

if it is a stricky smelly job, and you do not feel appreciated, or your stomach says you are going to lose it soon, cut the modding passion, and get your periscope up. because with your head in the brown stinky smelly stuff, you can impossibly know what is on the horizon.
But your stubbornness and your will to learn modding shows you have one quality: willingness to tackle a difficult subject. And not to give up easily.

you arent doing yourself, your loved ones OR your Fans any good by running off a cliff soon.

...and if you are ready to go pig farming in Provence... that tells me the time has come to make some goddamned drastic moves, take your courage in both hands, and get off that sinking ship?

back to topic...
accurate Turms with accurate Guns is a desireable subject - defnitely something to watch out for!

Take one small step at a time Leigh and only after thinking it through thoroughly and consulting with those you love and trust the most.

Either way....all the very best

Every Modder here abouts has faced the problem of Real Life work situations.

Rule 1
Real Life comes first!!

Rule 2
If Modding interferes with Real Life? See Rule 1!

Rule 3
If Real Life interferes with Modding? See Rule 1!

Because there is Rule #1 there is no next GWX version after 3.0! Because somebody had put timetables into project. This can spook team members away from doing anything. If somebody would ask me how much of my life I could give for modding the SH3 I would answered: "I would give as much as I can but not more".

Hi chaps,

Actually modding never gets in the way of Work,Real Life or anything else really. It's my work situation that's the root of most of my problems and it is that that makes me depressed and it is that depression that gets in the way of everything else including modding. Anyone that sufferes from depression will reckognise the vicious circle.

Cheers

Each of us has some problems, in work, family, with children, money etc. But this
is our world, where is the fun in the first place and it does not matter whether it is playing (player as me, user of your great mods) or modding (it's you gentlemen). Have fun, this is here on subsim and in our virtual sub-world the most important.
