Yep but I run a heavily (and personally) modded version of X3 with a huge pile of scripts on top of that. The thought of having to do it all over again with the new x3 makes me cringe. Especially as I redid all the stock ships and added in my own variants, the calculations took me 2 days to work out, and punching them all in took almost 2 weeks.

Some day ill switch over to X3TC, but I'm not in any rush (give it another year maybe).

Yes I do, and with school I hardly ever have time to play those games any more sadly. I own more then that list, those are just the ones that make the rounds fairly frequently. But several of those games go back several years to well over a decade (or two) ago.

Now don't make this complicated!

All of them get installed and replayed when I have time to, so they all count. The only reason they may sit un-played on my hard drive is when I don't have time to play any games at all. They all don't get played all at once and all of them take tours on my hard drive. None of them are in permanent residence though (no game resides on my hard drive for more than 6 months).

I could actually add to that list too, but those are the ones that reside very frequently on my system (Reinstalled 8 or more times) or stay for very long periods on my drive (x3 for example).

Normally I only keep 4-8 games loaded up at a time, and switch them around every month or 2.

Sim City 4 + Addon
Evil Genius
Dungeon Keeper 2
Sid Meier's Pirates
Thief 1-3 (3 is personally my favorite, mainly because it cut back on the nonsense with arrows and alerted guards of the other 2)

Those are some of my favourite games also. Good to meet another Evil Genius fan.

Sniper Elite (best sniping game ever)

Please tell me about this game. I like sniper games and I have played several bad ones. I would like to find a good one. Why do you think this is a good one?

You can get X3: Reunion 2.0 on DVD for something like $10. I think Newegg has it on sale for 9.99 or so.
But yea, the 6 CD install is just harsh. Somehow all my DVD or CD drives had problem reading the CD's while installing the game, but could read the disks just fine any other time. Ended up copying the disks on the HDD and install from there. Since then, I burn the X3 folders on DVD or copy them on an external drive.

Ya evil genius is one of my favorites, though i modded the heck out of it to fix some of what annoyed me that I could correct.

Ok now for Sniper Elite. I like it as its one of the best modeled sniper games I've yet to see. Breathing, wind and bullet drop are fully modeled, you can mask the sound of gunshots with artillery explosions (think enemy at the gates), and its got a pretty cool bullet camera (which can be turned off). It is not a perfect game though, and while I like the sniping aspects, I can't stand some of the unrealistic stuff in it.

My biggest 2 gripes is the rest of the game is 3rd person other then sniping, and you can crawl around with a ridiculous amount of ordinance. Such as a silenced p38, your current sniper rifle, a mg42 on your back, and a panzerschrek to go with it. You can have 150 rounds for the sniper rifle, near endless ammounts of mg ammo, 3 rocket rounds, several clips of pistol ammo, plus explosives (2 kinds), booby trap grenades, 2 types of regular grendades, and 2 different types of healing packs. All in all a crazy ammount of stuff to be packing around. Also the sniper rifles are not overly realistic (the bolt action one acts like a semi auto) but not horrible either, most of it is pretty minor. You also can't adjust the scope, but I don't think it was very common to during ww2 anyhow.

You also are forced to play offensively (very little letting the enemy come to you) and most of it spent slowly crawling around from cover to cover. Play it like an action game and you will probably die a lot. The ai isn't stupid either, they will stay under cover, try to flank, and have pretty good hearing. Other then that the campaign is pretty decent and fairly long.

Here is a review if you want more details. http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/sn...te/review.html I don't agree with all of what is said in it (i didnt mind having to exfiltrate for example, it added to the sense of immersion). It is definatly a game that to play well takes time and a lot of patience.

Compared to the rest of the Sniper games out there, this one beats the heck out of them (but all the otherones ive seen or heard of were all cheap crap).

Thanks for the information.

What I am looking for is a sniper game that encompasses the "hunting" aspects of a sniper.

Observing your target
predicting target movement
positioning for target engagement
Waiting
Fully modded shooting enviornment. Like you mentioned bullet drop, wind, ect.

I guess the sniper game market is more aligned with those players who want more action type games. I like the sneaking, observing, hiding and waiting type of games.

I might check this one out. Thanks for sharing your opinions on it.

Yes.

I thought it was great in terms of graphics and its storyline, but the game mechanics on a whole were not very good IMO. The Germans were ALWAYS able to recognize you in disguise, the AI sometimes just behaved in an overall strange manner (like sounding alarms when there was no need to), and yes, it was also very difficult.

The main games I play right now are:

1. Extreme Warfare Revenge
This game is so addictive. I have trouble stopping myself from playing sometimes. It's definitely the game I spend the most time playing right now.

2. Dangerous Waters
3. City of Heroes
4. Silent Hunter III
5. Harpoon 3 Advanced Naval Warfare
6. Half Life 2
