See, THIS is why you can't have a female Kaluen on a U-boat. Fritz!! Get the ropes, we got some keelhaulin' to do!

Did anybody agree with my post about U-boats trying to strangle The UK to submission, by the by?

Flattering??? Yes!! The cigar just does it for me. I'm a Punch Cigar fan myself.

Actualy Penelope, I think Hitler was wrong all the way. You can t force the british nation to do anything...
They have one of the stronger spirit in front of adversity....
They do suck at a all bunch of thing (sex for exemple:rotfl: ) but you can t force them in submission...

Yes, agreed. This was the plan and it might have succeeded if Hitler did not tie Doenitz hands by low production of boats and pulling boats out of the Atlantic for his own adventures in other seas.

Mmmmmmmmm to go back in time to WW2, that would be awesome, If we had a time machine we could go back and come back to our time then go back and do something else.
The first time i would go back and buy/steal a whole bunch of stuff, like antigues and art stuff. Then i would come back and sell it in the present and get rich haha. Then i would go back and become a U-Boat Captain or a Captain in the German Army. hmmm driving a Tiger Tank or a U-Boat. interesting

I voted no way……………. But there is a part in me that wonder what I would have done by then. But even back then the young guys joining up to go off to war didn’t really have any idea on what the war was going to be like for them.

I know we had a little trouble with those British back in the 1700’s but they do have that grit in them that seems to get them thru a lot of crap.

“butter you up” …………..now me heart is pounding……..maybe a little too fast.. I have to go sit down for a little while

OMG, im a collector of Military History, I would just use the time machine to bring to battles, like after the fighting and i would just take stuff, like guns, uniforms stuff like that. And how big is the time machine, if its anything like the StarGate, haha i would drive tanks and jeeps back home.

No - way ! We all Know how brave the U Boat men were, but have you ever thought how horrible it would be to be on a merchant in a convoy, see a couple of ships taken out and wonder if your next? A few hours later another couple of ships go and so on. It occured to me whilst stalking a convoy last night.

P.G. You are absolutely right about the U Boat war, but I think the city bombings started after a German Bomber dumped it's bombs on London by mistake. We retaliated and the rest is history.Actually it saved our skins because the RAF was all but on it's knees at the time.

Not by mistake.
It was a special operation ordered by Churchill himself to boost english force morale. They could strike back!
Actualy I don t think any one farsaw that Hitler will order to bomb London then,
which actualy was wonderful for fighter command

Since this is thread is based on complete fantasy I'd like to respond. Unfortunatly there is no option in the poll for what I would do.

If I could use a time machine it would be a one-way trip.
I removed the original fantasy content

Let's just say if I was sucessful I'm sure some henchman or pritty henchwoman with seductive eyes would finish me off.

It's quite simple: we know what happened during WW2, don't we?

We know the entire story, we know how many that died during those 6 years and 1 day of fighting (40-60 million dead, bloodiest war of all time).
We know the horrors, we know the tragedies.
We know how it ended.
The captains in the Kriegsmarine did NOT know all this. They knew only the facts that their commanders would tell them or the things they saw themselves......
Same goes for the R.A.F blokes, or the sovjet Red Army men.

They created history, so that we could read, listen, and see it. And what I've seen of it.....it wasn't pretty....and I can play how many WW2 games I want (and belive me, I DO),but give me 5 bullets and tell me to rush the hill and take up some other mans rifle when he dies......
or put me in a IXB U-boat and order me to stop the flooding in the engines compartment.....
or put me inside a B-17 and make me use a 30 caliber MG to try and save me and my friends lifes from a very fast, and indeed, a very deadly enemy......
IN REAL LIFE!!!!!!!!!

I'd be very,very,very scared indeed.
