Meanwhile on the good ship HMS Hadoken, HunterICX, Raptor, Arclight and myself spend three hours trying to work out TDC and fail miserably...so there's only one course of action left...

When we where being hunted by a Destroyer: Oberon: This reminds me of a scene from Das Boot (right after he finished his sentence) *ship start to rock and the sound of explosions are heard* Me/Raptor/Arclight: You mean this part? the timing couldn't have been better.

That was funny...also earlier
Raptor: "Ping." Oberon: "I don't hear it...let me see." *walks from engineering to conn* Oberon: "Nope...I don't hear it..." *explosion, boat rocks* Oberon: "Heard that though." |

That's the "hull down" position. You see, after firing a shot the horse moves down into cover to reload in a safe location before engaging the enemy again.

I wish that Skylines took large scale modding a bit better than it does though. There's some beautiful UK image housing sets out there, but if you get too many then things start to chug.
Still love it though, a gem of a game. (in other news, apologies for that dx log-in pop-up that you've probably been getting when making a reply to this thread or viewing the last page...I've narrowed down what image it is now [the US marine with the katanas] and I'm going to go and murder it now) |

Yeah, Skyline is... not easy to mod.
It is a little embarrassing but I spend HOURS in the last days putting together modsets (collections in the workshop) so I can easily switch on/off mods in case of a problem - which there are plenty of. The biggest problem however is that we have no ability to REPLACE vanilla stuff, we can only ADD, which bloats the game. Only having 8GB RAM really sucks with skylines. I'm running at with ~6.xxGB, so absolute borderline from "dude why do you want to kill your RAM?". However, once one is setup (which can take hours of tuning, selecting, testing, deleting assets...) Skylines can be seriously rewarding. If... |
