I would say she wasn't paying attention. I suggest getting a different one.

Oh, you mean in the game; I thought you had a personal problem that was too delicate to talk about.
In the game (and in real life) torpedos will detonate early due to many factors, including running too shallow, defective triggers, rough seas and a host of other factors. Yes, this would alert a convoy to danger and get your sub in a whole lot of trouble. This is not a bug in the game.

Hi to all, I've a problem with sonar icon. When I ask to sonarman to find the ship distance by sonar ping (clicking on both the approximate and acurate finding icon), the game quits with CTD! Anyway, I can ping myself the ship and all is clean.
Is there a fix for this issue? (this issue came with GWX installation, so I posted here. I have other mods in my SH3, it could be a conflict?) thx! |

At times I've seen them alert the Escorts.
Other times the detonations don't. Guess the look outs were looking the other way then. If it's a bug, it's from the Game Code itself, not GWX stuff. |

THX. I will check. I thought I was still docked, but perhaps I moved a little before asking the nav officer to plot the course.

Start Date GWX
Can anyone tell me where the start date is listed in the GWX 3.0 configuration files?

I don't know. I have tried the active radar and have instructed the radio (radar) operator to search, but I have never used it for distance info. I am sure somebody else has. I suggest you ask in the general mods workshop, as some people never read the stickys.

Hi,
I have trouble to install GWX 3, I used GWX 2 without any problems. Heres the scenario I tried to install GWX+SH3 on two systems.. 1 My Laptop, fresh XP SP3 System, never used SH3 on this one>error 2 My Games PC (XP+SP3) I uninstalled SH3+GWX2, did a registry clean and than I tried to reinstall SH3 and GWX3>error. > I guess the GWX installer checks some files of the SH3 install, maybe the "Gold" Version is different. For Example I don't need the CD to play, I don't need to enter a CD Key, I don't need to patch (already 1,4) I only have the "Gold Version" Last edited by vulture42; 04-22-09 at 08:51 AM. |

This is a magnificent piece of work, truely astounding. Respect to all those involved with it.
My PC just doesn't run it smoothly enough to make it a viable option for me though, which miffes me off a bit. Shame. |

The Gold Version (aka Starforce Free) of SH3 should only differ with 5 files, these are: MissionEngine.dll sh3.exe SimData.dll StateMachine.dll Utils.dll As far as I know the GWX installer does not check these files to see if they're modified. IIRC, it checks the campaign, basic.cfg file size (+ one other I can't remember) and the sh3.exe version number to see if it differs from what it expects to see in a stock 1.4b installation, aswell as checking to see if the SH3 folder in My Documents is still present (?). I wonder if you could run a little test? There are folder compare tools (free & trial versions) available that can generate a report (either txt or HTML) that lists the contents & file sizes of a designated folder. It might be of use to get a report from your SH3 Gold version so that it can be compared to an original disc installed version. I personally use Beyond Compare 3 but there are freeware versions available, like this one http://no-nonsense-software.com/printfolder/
