Yes...
I think it’s Traveller mod the culprit... Honestly you should try the mod list as below: OpsMonsun_V705 OMv705_to_V720 OMv720_Patch5 OMEGU_v300 OMEGU_v300_Patch7 KiUB_English (can be find inside OMEGU_v300) Magnified Hud Dials for OM+OMEGU_Medium Fifi Compilation for OM+OMEGU Fifi Compilation_Update_2 100% CTD free, and best enhancements available around for OM Furthermore most of your mod list is included in my compilation...and adaptated for OM.

Ok, I have installed everything and will try it.
Do you have a harder escort or do I need to add it on top? I have never attacked convoys without it (I am quite new to the game) and I liked the challenge so far. They were really aggressive. It is even hard to shift from the right side of the convoy to the left. And rear guard of the big convoy which I encountered was a particularly pesky one. Wasted so many hours just to approach the targets from the right side. |

If you like harder escort, you can activate the L1 or L2 on top of all

Ok, I have started a new career under a different name but in the same flotilla. BdU gave me exactly the same type IX boat.
Which looks much better now. Those ugly triangles are gone. Everything looks polished. I think you even did the deck/floor in the tower. It is mid-September 1939, west of the coast of Portugal (that's my first patrol grid). I am tracking a convoy. The wind is about 15 m/s and how beautifully it is howling. Quite loud but immersive. I think you have got some better sounds that I had previously. Are there shortcuts to hide the flag (which is damn pretty, even for a Nazi flag) and radio antenna? I am even starting to like the map color scheme. It might be my favorite compilation of mods for any Silent Hunter. And I may enjoy it as much as I do SH3. I am playing two careers in SH3: GWX and NYGM. I haven't installed SH5 yet. My question is do you have any other compilations for different versions of the game? Or maybe list of recommended mods. You don't have to reply in this thread for an Operation Monsun but I am open to suggestions via pm. Thank you for your time and help. Much appreciated. |

Yes, tons of things has been reworked.
As well as sounds...actually just perfect to me You can’t raise and lower the flag as in SH3, but when you dive it’s hidden. Same for antenna and UZO ( well, not sure for the type IX UZO though - i didn’t changed it) You can check some time my Compilation thread, for updates to come if you want. Good hunting and thanks for your kind words

Just came back from a little SH break, only to find this...
Downloading...I am very excited to see the result of your work. Sounds really promising to me. Little question though: What escort mod is more difficult, is it L1 or L2? I always went with L2 but still had little problems with evading.

From what I read in readme it is L2.
And from my little experience so far it doesn't seem like it makes evading more difficult but escorts are far more pro-active. They won't let you as close to the convoy (in comparison) if they are around. Seems like their sensors are refined. I haven't tried L1. Did I just stumble upon Queen Elizabeth Class escorting convoy? CTD - it's not just a job

I don't know the content of the group you are encountering that has the BB Queen Elizabeth, but one little fine point about SH4 is that the "leader" vessel of the grouping is what determines whether you have a convoy or a Task Force. You might have 15 capital ships with 12 destroyers, but the leader is a regular tanker, or a regular freighter, and your targeting will say it's a "Convoy". However, you put a CL in as leader of a convoy with say one escort DE, and that same system will say you've got a "Task Force". When you think about it though, there do have to be some rules around here... - Also, some rather large capital ships were used as "escorts", or rather, as an "accompanist", since it is kind of difficult to cut knuckles, like an escort, in a BB... They did have to look out for the BB Bismarck and others of that ilk though...

Sorry, I should post the screenshot with the group in the background. There are at least one leading destroyer and one guarding the rear. I haven't seen the right side of the convoy. Queen Elizabeth is escorting the left side where I approached the group from. And I have also seen about twenty merchant ships (there might be more): British, Greek, etc. It seems like they are traveling from the Mediterranean. According to my historical research, it could be HMS Barham or HMS Malaya.
I am just surprised because in the second patrol of a career which I stopped (when I found out about Fifi compilation) I just sunk County Class heavy cruiser escorting/accompanying the convoy. It was my first warship sunk in any Silent Hunter. So event to remember or cherish, I guess. I couldn't find any capital ships in SH3 so far. Maybe because I wasn't actively looking for them. I wasn't in Operation Monsun either. I just seem to have more luck. My problem is it is 14 or 16 September 1939 in this first patrol. One month before Prien sunk HMS Royal Oak. And according to in-game message system Hitler, OKM and BdU agree that U-Boats should not attack British capital ships because sinking it might embarrass England and break possible peace talks. But Queen Elizabeth is three times heavier than County Class HC. I don't think I want to pass on it. Also considering that I do not obey orders on a regular basis in real life why my U-Boat captain should be different, right? What could possibly go wrong for him after sinking Queen Elizabeth? British are quite good at embarrassing themselves (vide: Brexit) so why not help them? And they will not sign a peace anyway. |

I just started a September 1944 career in a Type IXC/40 and there is no radar detector fitted nor is there any means to add one before departing Flensburg.
Patrol orders are for Square CB15 in the Gulf of Maine and without a radar detector that destination is likely to be suicidal. All front boats were fitted with radar detectors by this time so what files need to be edited to add them to a Type IXC/40 in Op Monsun, V720 with Patch 5? Thanks in advance for any help. -C |
