At the risk of derailing this into a film discussion thread, what did you think of it?
My view, not bad, quite enjoyable, a bit predictable in some areas, the trader/race organiser reminded me of a used car salesman from Dagenham (perhaps it was his great-great-great-great-great-grandfather?) but since, unlike Mr Hood, it has not pretension of being 'historically accurate' bar the history lesson at the start than such a critical eye need not be cast upon it. Needed more pits with spikes though... |

Thought it was pretty decent for a video game movie. Could see the plot twists and ending miles away and it had as many plot holes as swiss cheese, but not unenjoyable...

Awesome.
This thing is for the bombs. You can arm them with it in several ways. OV= Ohne Verzögerung (without delay) MV= Mit Verzögerung (with delay) Then you can switch between dive bombing and level bombing: Sturz = Dive Waagerecht = Horizontal Unfortunately it doesn't say how switching from dive to horizontal would affect the bomb. I actually didn't know that the bombs could be switched from delayed to not delayed in mid flight.

Speaking of bombs...
I saw you explode over the destoryer after you tried to skip bomb, Schroeder. Did your bombs decide to "return to sender"?

Arclight had the same problem. It seemed as if the bomb delay did not work although it was set to 3 seconds. The game doesn't simulate malfunctions like this so maybe there was a lag caused problem that caused the bombs to detonate earlier than they should have.
Or maybe the flak got me directly over the ship, though I find that hard to believe considering that BOTH my wings fell off. It really looks like a premature detonation of my bombs and I've no real idea how this could happen.

I set the time delay to zero.
Maybe the destroyer got lucky that it shot your bombs before you drop?

Nope, I destroyed my target so the bombs did hit. If the bombs had been hit while still attached to my aircraft I would have disintegrated on the spot.

Does IL-2 even model such things as bombs hit and exploding in mid air?

I'm not entirely sure. I had some bombers explode nicely when I hit them with cannons in the fuselage. I always considered that to have been hits into the bomb load.

I think it's the mod, I've noticed since that the bombs create somekind of explosion when they hit the ground (thought it doesn't blow up anything nearby) then 3 seconds later (my default delay) the bigger explosion and it causes targets to be destroyed.
perhaps tonight I'll launch a dogfight server for a short while before we start the mission to test what the hell is going on with the bombs and the delay. I'll have a target (unarmed merchant ship) and you'll skip bomb it again with the same settings you used in the last mission HunterICX
