Personally, I do this to blow off steam and have a laugh, which I invariably do. I can't shoot for **** so I just try to enjoy the flight. If it became about kill scoring, it just wouldn't be much fun because a small group would be in the high teens whilst the rest would be feeling inferior with their small group of kills.

I fly bombers, so keeping track of kills doesn't effect me at all.
I play for fun, any squadron/clan/whatever that tracks kills and plays to win are a horrible bunch in my view.

I have about 4 kills in this campaign, due to R/L. Missed a few sorties lately and likely to miss a few more as most of the contents of my house, and personal stuff is in storage due to a refurb.
But i'm kinda with Schroeder on this one. When things get silly i dont bother joining. |

I think part of the problem is IL-2
We need a campaign that keeps us interested where things happen around us too. If there are too many AI planes we all die, or we can't find them. If there are too few then maybe one or two of us get a kill. DCG no matter how you set it up just seems to be uninvolving, or you have goldplatzs missions which were weird. The Filthy Few is fun but I haven't had much of a chance to be online of late. IF AAA can get AI to attack on a dogfight map and things were more spontaneous it might be better. Raptor what is your issue with the FMB that it doesn't work? I think in the end we have to make our own mission sets. |

I kind of want to fly a historical type of campaign but it should be balanced between ai and players. With something for everyone and no more "you just get this outload and nothing else" stuff. If Canon ever finishes his Channel Map I might think of making a BOB campaign for both sides.

The Problem with a BoB campaign is that the .303 rifles of the British planes are hopeless against the German planes. That usually spoils the fun. We've tried it earlier (I think you hadn't joined us yet back then). It usually was quite frustrating to unload your ammo into a Heinkel without downing it.
On the other hand that made teamwork a necessity.
