What is the TMO small patch?

I looked for it on the TMO thread and couldn't find it. From what I read there, it fixes an error where skippers of GAR & GATO Class boats are offered a TAMBOR as an upgrade.

I also read that if you're running RSRDC as well, it has its own flotilla progression which over rides TMO's and so the error is essentially deleted.

I don't think it does. I was playing some TMO+RSRD and I got a Tambor and was never offered another upgrade ever. I didn't even get a new conning tower.

I started the current campaign w/ a P-boat and then got TROUT in which I've completed four patrols. I've been offered an upgrade to new construction which I declined. The real TROUT was sunk in '44 and I thought I'd try to get this one thru the war. I haven't gotten any significant upgrades tho beyond an SJ radar.

I'm now trying out my 3rd major mod, GFO. which doesnt seem all that popular, even among those that play stock?

I tried TMO but the escort AI and depth charges seem just too dialed up.

I then tried RFB, its lack of sonar lines and course direction for radio map contacts makes it frustrating. I trolled around for days without finding any ships and chasing map contacts is just silly without knowing their direction. (how do they know their speed and not general direction?)

Now im looking for a more challenging, but still stock 1.5 experience. GFO could be it....or maybe RSRD? both?

Do TMO+RSRD. It's the most popular mod combo and the escorts start off easy but get harder as the war goes on.

That's funny; I consider that to be one of the strengths of RFB.

It isn't really that hard. You just have to make careful observations, then translate what you observe into your plot. After a series of successive observations, you will know exactly what you could realistically expect to know, under those circumstances.

I would consider going back to TMO if there was way to remove the awful 'depth charge splash sound'. It doesnt appear to be something changeable in the /sound directory, it must be coded into the escorts or something.

Played SH2 and SH3 MANY years ago
Modding SH5 has yet to go error free
so
the urge to go deep for xmas

For the mod setup you're looking at, have "Optical Targeting Correction 1.5 for RSRDCv502" (found HERE) added just after:

1_TriggerMaru_Overhaul_2-5
1_TMO_25_small_patch
RSRDC_TMO_V502
RSRDC_V5xx_Patch1

You'll have to check for yourself if the other mods in your list interfere with any of the workings of the three previous mods (TMO, RSRDC, OTC). I know OTC changes some things from TMO and RSRDC.....but its for the better. "OTC for RSRDCv502" was made to work specifically with the two other mods.....I can't say if the other mods in your list will work with it.

You'll need to pay attention to what gets changed when you "Activate" these other mods through JSGME, to determine if the changes are going to "break" something with your first three mod additions. I've always kept the idea that "more.....ISN'T always better".

Instead of using Traveller Mod v2.01 for TMO
Use version 2.6 for TMO.

You should find some extra mods in a folder in the 2.01 mods folder. Inside of that folder there is the longer sinking times mod. Traveller put the extra mods in a separate folder to allow others to pick and choose which mods they wanted.

I am not sure if he incorporated the slower sink times in the 2.6 version or not.
